Because despite the flat appearance, it's actually a render of a 3d scene. Plus none of the other categories fit.

That's pretty funky looking, with the focus on Explodo Boy and the background being all blurred.
It sort of reminds me of the final Worms games backgrounds to me. It just has that sorta look. That would be cool.

Well I thought this was fantastic before you resubmitted it, and believe it or not, (I know it's hard to believe) it's still fantastic. A lot of people always critise you for being repetitive or having things out of focus. These sort of comments you have been getting for ages, and I think they're all wrong. I know you only post your art on here for people like me to view it, who actually enjoy it, and only create it in the first place because you yourself do what YOU believe is good. I think constructive critisism can be good in some circumstances, but with a finished artwork that the artist themself likes, they're not going to change anything for someone who doesn't care about it.... I mean I'm sorry for writing all of this because it's hardly worth reading, but I've been a fan of your work for some time, and you always get these very similar comments which are meaningless to you. Most of it is good artwork and you know it, and the mindless comments from people in this community mean nothing. If anyone wants decent artwork: go to [link]

Usually when I say something to the effect of "critique it all you want, it's not like I'm going to change it<" the general response is that I'm a "cocky s.o.b." or an "asshole," or some other lame insult. No one else seems to subscribe to the "I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't like it" thoery. Oh well, good to know at least one other person out there "gets" it.

The only real problem i have with this is the reflection on the right hill. The rest of it fucking rocks. The explosions looks cool with the toonish look and the debris and everything is awesome. cool character--i hope to see more of him!
And now. I just want to say to all the morons that say this isnt 3d...tell me. Is cell shading in video games not 3d?
so how 'bout all your morons shut the hell up. Stop raggin' on her for the stuff she makes for the stupidest shit...christ...

Ha! Its so origional, and fun and, well different than anything else Ive seen recentally, and you can tell just by looking at him that the character himself has a lot of charater to him, and it looks like he sure loves his job.

I really like it. ^_^
Funny how people can comment a picture just to tell you they don't like it. Way I see it, if you don't like it, don't give it another comment, and don't fave it. Period.
Anyways, this is super cute, and yeah, I believe its a vector. You're the one that did it, after all.

I think it looks very cool. I like the smooth look of the piece. The expression on his face is very cool. Who cares what other people say. I think it is great, and I will this cuz it looks cool. Great work, it is nice to see something other then abstracts dominating this catagory. At least you grow and do different things with your work. Kudos my friend.

Jeeze.. there are some picky crits on this piece. Like the handel being too long and the highlights on the mountains being too.. highlighty?? People are putting way to much thought into crits on this.. It's supposed to be a cartoonish piece, therefore almost anything goes.
Oh well, I love this Everything about it. The expression, the explosion, the treees =3

comΒ·ma n.
Grammar. A punctuation mark ( , ) used to indicate a separation of ideas or of elements within the structure of a sentence.
Remember, grammar is your friend. C0z kno 1 payz attntshen 2 d01ts tht talk lik dis.
Not that your opinion means shit anyway, but it might mean just a hint more if you spoke proper english. Shocker.

I have seen your work and you know aswell as I do that you pulled a fucking shocking move, that is not 3d and will never be 3d. The mere fact that you resort to grammar proves that u are guilty as charged.
π: 0 β©: 1
smashmethod In reply to evilclown46 [2004-07-21 22:14:33 +0000 UTC]
I'm not "resorting to grammar," that's just how normal people communicate. I have no clue what you mean by "pulled a fucking shocking move," but if you're referring to the validity of whether or not this is 3d, a simple screenshot of 3d studio max would prove you wrong.
(...and by the way, "you" is still a 3 letter word.)

evilclown46 In reply to smashmethod [2004-07-21 22:19:08 +0000 UTC]
Your other work is great, but you have got to admit that this does really not categorise as 3d, how much of this piece is actually done in 3d max ?
π: 0 β©: 1
smashmethod In reply to evilclown46 [2004-07-21 22:38:23 +0000 UTC]
I don't "have to admit" anything. I obviously know what went into making it, and I obviously self-categorized it as a 3d piece because of this. If you're looking for a quantitative figure as to "how much" is 3D, I can assure you more than 50%, not to mention the final product (sans text) is an unmodified render.
Stop talking.
