WOW. none of the comments on here even come close to the amount of thanks you should receive. I had the same problem, trying to get realistic reflections in vray but was limited because I only had a few decent ones. Am on a students budget so have been making my own with christmas balls...but all are low quality even if I get the location I want. Thank you so much.

thanks for the the hdr's I'm just planning on playing around with them a little maybe use them on personal works for portfolio purposes only, I gotta learn how to do this sort of stuff so I can make some of my own. How'd you feel about writing a tutorial on the topic. If you know of any tuts could you direct me to one thanks. thanks again for the

My Photoshop opens .hdr files properly.. haha
I've never installed the stuff you mentioned on purpose

The newer versions have .hdr support natively. The description was written well before that was the case.

Also, Blender isn't reading these properly.
I think it can only use the angular mapped(sphere) type, unfortunately
