This is superb. Great eyes and lips. Amazing coloring. I find it really tough to do all those highlights, darktones, and especially use gradients. You certainly worked long and hard on this and it totally paid off.

Element-X- In reply to polychromatic [2004-07-04 20:25:52 +0000 UTC]
To keep it simple, a vector is a shape that is not defined by pixels, rather points. Its the opposite of a raster image (an image defined by a grid of pixels). And seeing as vectors aren't defined by pixels, they can be resized to any resolution without distortion, perfect for prints and whatnot. I hope I enlightened you somewhat.

A vector is a calculated image.. If you for example make 3 vector points the computer will calculate the distance between the points and fill that up with a color, or whatever. So you can adjust the size everytime, always, over and over again. It recalculates the points and so you will not deal with image quality loss.. Hope that's clears up something

polychromatiic: I've recently done a Digital Photomedia unit at university, where they defined vector as an image that is drawn with lines, and the lines are created by mathematical fomula, starting and stopping between points.
This allows you to zoom in as close as you want without it getting pixellated, or patchy.
SmashMethod: Wonderful piece of art. I would say its about as good as the art I see on the cover of many comics, if not better

NightSabre [2004-07-04 19:58:12 +0000 UTC]
whoa! awesome! how did you get the total amount of points? surely you didnt count it.
π: 0 β©: 1
smashmethod In reply to NightSabre [2004-07-04 20:20:15 +0000 UTC]
Highlight everything, and go to Object >> Path >> Simplify, and check "Preview." It'll say "Original: ###" and the new point count after simplification, the original is how many total.
