It was a cold and dark winter's night, the sort of night where most ponies preferred to sit around the fire and drink hot cider... but Nimble Spirit was never one to turn down an opportunity to hunt. She knew that on a night like this, none but the biggest and toughest monsters would venture outdoors, which were really the only monsters worth hunting. After strapping on her equipment and gathering her weapons, Nimble took to the skies in search of a chimera or Ursa Minor to fight. Sadly, an hour of searching yielded few results, and Nimble was about to return home empty hoofed, when she noticed a pair of brown blurs weaving through the trees below. Upon closer inspection, she saw that the blurs were actually a deer being chased by a timber wolf (a strange abomination of oaken branches fused together by dark energy into the shape of a wolf).

Timber wolves were quite common in the Everfree Forest, and Nimble Spirit had no interest in such small game, but at the same time she couldn't turn down an opportunity to rescue a fellow ungulate. It would also be the perfect opportunity to test out the newest tool in her arsenal, a special net that she had purchased from a merchant in Cloudsdale several days ago. As the timber wolf passed under her, Nimble Spirit pulled a heavy metal net from her pack, which was weighted down on each end with small blue spheres. Nimble pressed her hoof to the sphere in the center of the net and threw it with all her might at the timber wolf, who yelped in pain as the now-electrified net landed perfectly on his back. The wolf collapsed in a heap and clawed weakly at the net for a few moments before passing out in the snow.

Nimble Spirit landed gracefully next to the beast, pressed the center sphere and stuffed the now-dormant net back into her pack without a word. The net had lived up to the merchant's promise: 'subdue and capture monsters in one go, without worrying about them fighting back'. There was no point in killing the wolf, though: the deer had escaped, and Nimble had enough trophies in her cabin. The only thing left to do now would be to return home, sit by the fire and decide if she wanted to try 'catch and release' monster hunting more often.
