Description
This is not a FREE to MAKE breed. It is my dragon breed that I am using for the Nordanner Dragon Design Contest. If it is not selected than adoptables may be made.

FACT FILE:
Scientific Name: Nullam draco volans
Proper Name: Nullam
Size: 20 Hands High-excluding the wings that can add about 13 Hands, 40 Hands long- excluding the tail that is about 20 Hands
Weight: 1000 pounds plus
Lifespan: 200 years
Habitat: Everywhere in the world, except underwater
Diet: Omnivores (They only eat the meat of animals that do not have anything to say{cows, pigs, chicken and sheep} plus they eat plant life and vegitables.)
Gestation: About 160 days
Predators: Humans, magical beings, other dragons

As with each specie of dragon in the world this breed of dragons is an exception to the rule that they live apart. There are some Nullams that do live solitare lives, but most Nullams live in pairs and can sometimes seen in groups. Most prides of Nullams, have at the tops 5 in the group, usually they are adolesent nullams that are still finding their way in the world. Dragonets say with their parents until they are about 5 years old. They grow and learn about being a dragon in the time that they live with their parents.

At the age of 5, they are sent into the world to find their gem/crystal. They are challenged by elder dragons, some could be in a certain magic, combat, history of the dragon, and other challenges. When they find their stone, they go back to their parents or another teacher to learn magic. The stone is set into jewlery for the dragon, it depends on the dragon where the stone will be placed. Only as they start to learn their magic the crystals on their wing tips, will start to get color of the stone. When they master magic, the wing tips will be a solid color. Also the dragons eyes will change to the color of the stone.

Physical Characteristics:
There is no real size difference between the two genders of Nullams. The average size of a Nullam is around 20 Hands High with out counting the wings that can add 13 hands when spread out. They are 40 Hands long again not including the tail which can be a whooping 20 Hands long.

Color:

Like most animals, there are rare colors, but most Nullams can be any color. More discussion on the rare colors will be described later.
The chest plates, whiskars, and the inside of the wings are all of the same color. Some dragons can have highlights in their tail hair of this color too. Rare colors would be white and black.
The Eyes, crystals on the wings, and their stones would be the same color, but when born the crystals will be clearish, and the eyes-a grey/blue color. Multi-Color would be the only rare color.
Anywhere that there is skin-head, ears, feet, wings and under the tail hair. Rare colors would be black.
All hair on the dragon-from the head to the tail, is a different color. White is the only rare color.
Scales are most of the time a shade darker than the hair, so the only rare color would be white.

Difference between the Genders:

Most of the time their is only a few differences between a male and female Nullam. Males have a goatee, no tail hair except the puff at the top, and longer whiskers. Females have tail hair, no goatee and shorter whiskars.

Habitat
Nullams can be found on most places in the world. They adapt to the place where they are living. The only place where they are not found are in the water. But they can be found living behind waterfalls. They love lounging in the sun, soaking up the rays. Unlike some winged animals that do not love getting wet, this breed loves swimming.

Temperment
The temperment of the Nullam depends on the dragon that you meet, and the time of the season it is. If it is during breeding season, that is when the nasyer side comes out. If you meet a Nullam not during breeding season, then they are usually calmer and peaceful. But it really depends on the Dragon that you meet.

Diet
Nullams are omnivores. The meat that they eat, are animals that do not have much to say, as a magical dragon, they can speak to animals. So the meat that they eat are cows, chickens, pigs and sheep. Nullams also eat plants and their veggies. A special treat that they love is cucumbers.

Dragonettes
A Nullam can clutch 2 to 4 dragonettes each breeding season that they are ferile. But this is an estimate there can be more or less. They usually only breed every three years, unless they have not had a previous clutch. Dragonettes instead of drinking milk, drink the blood of a cow or pig(one everyday) but they eat the meat of the animal within a few hours of being born. They are somewhat clumsy, they fall over their wings because they do not have the strength to hold them up all of the time. When they are 1 year of age, this is when they start their flying lessons. Their wings are strong enough to hold their weight. Then at 5, they go off to search for their magic stone.

Predators
Humans, other magical beings and other dragons are the only predators. When they are old enough, they have combat spells in their arsenal. But when they are younger, their is always a mature dragon around.

Treasure
Nullams are sometime collectors, so they are used a lot in dragon hunts that a rider and horse have to get an item from them. They collect a variety of items, but each dragon is differnet. There are known Nullams that collect "genie" lamps, others stuffed animals and one that collected books that were bespelled to grow so that the dragon could read them.
