Well, we're celebrating midsummer (June 6th) because it's the longest day of the year. It's to honor the sungod Ull (from the Nordic Mythology). On this day, we traditonally wear our nationcostume, it's yellow and blue, however some citys have their own costumes.
I got a lot more info about the wikings and about just Sweden, but it's so damn boring. xD

soooo facts about Sweden huh.. well a thing that is discussed world wide right now is the "swedish pirates" which is like a political party that wants to legalize downloading from sites as The Pirate bay (a sedish site), BT junkie and other sits where you can download torrents.
Sweden is considered to be one of the most equal countries in the world (gender)
The Nobelprise comes from a Swedish scientist called Alfred Nobel who invented dynamite (I guess you probably already knew that but I might as well mentioned it)
The system of measuring degrees called "Celsius" was invented by a swedsih man named Anders Celsius.
We've won the Eurovision song contest four times... I think... I might have missed somebody but I think it was four times^^ Although lately our songs have sucked, UGH! I can't believe we sent the song we did this year-.-
