tribute to Yue!so i've been taking a break from drawing in a more cartoon-ish style lately and trying to focus on learning how to better my anatomy and shading skills
did i improve.....? maybe
though i dont think hair works that way
hopefully i can do enough of these to start taking up full commissions again.
this doesn't need a content warning, right? its just a butt.

The human looks fine but the lighting is throwing me off. Comes in 3 different directions. One towards her back, one towards her arm, and one towards the water with the moon above. Is that intentional? If so then there should be some light on her left thigh.

i dont know what i'm doing. i usually just try to add lighting to areas that need depth, i guess it would of made more sense had i made it white instead of blue so it would look like the light was coming from her hair... but i don't like how gray it makes her skin look. i like a lot of bright colors and i felt like using those colors looked nice with the water.

So wait. Her hair shines? Even if it does stand out due to saturation and dull dark colors, then the color should be a bit gray cause light gets weaker.
Is it just me, or have we had this convo before?
Anyways. While the bright colors look nice, it doesn't reflect the sky. The sky and the color of water always reflect.
As for her left thigh, some light should be added on the border to show the light shining down on her more.

The tones in the skin are interesting and I like what you did with the hair -- it makes for a pretty awesome composition. Nice water too. I like how the feeling of the reflection is very different from the actual setting.
