I had another idea at first, which was based on trust, then, instead, I thought I would focus on Kanan's darkness.
The darkness in which Kanan follows Hera is represented by his fears, his traumas, and his insecurities that lead him to reject the idea of joining the Rebellion.
It is a path that sincerely frightens him, a future he rejects but still chooses to follow because it is the one chosen by Hera and he has decided to follow her anywhere, even in the darkness of his fears.
