I love how this shows his inner torment, not just his rock star domination, but his weakness and helplessness, his human struggle, isolation and eventual loss to addiction. I think this is the best portrait of Layne because it is the most real. I will always remember him for his singing gift and power, but also his tragic spiral into loneliness and despair.
