Description This is day 125 of my 365 project. I'm beginning to explore much darker themes with my work, and I'm really looking forward to it. Anyhoo, if you're interested in keeping up with all of my 365, check out my facebook page, where I post every day!

Horror-licious! Yes, I invented a new word.
The washed-outness and detail vibrance really boost the eerie atmosphere here. Light always works better in works about scary/unnerving/distressing themes than darkness, because darkness tends to give more room to sadnessβ€”in my opinion.

One of the scariest nightmares I've had (as a little kid to boot) involved broad daylight. I was inside a beautiful house, alone, at daytime. The house was clinically tidy, as if cleaned by some germophobic control freak. The entire furniture was white. In just a few seconds, I felt something (something I never saw) come after me from somewhere within the house. I was overwhelmed with terror and ran for the front door to escape. As if the running wasn't hard enough a task, the front doorβ€”the only means of escapeβ€”was sealed shut. Fortunately the nightmare ended there and only returned once.

Wow, that nightmare sounds both terrifying and amazing. I'd love to create an image around that, though it'd be tricky. Still, scary and inspirational! I actually intend to create an image based around a childhood nightmare of mine in the coming months. Already have it jotted down in my idea journal.

They are a lot of fun--I agree! Glad you like it. And yes, the dress I bought at a garage sale; I love how the muddied bottom added to the darkness of the image.
