Description
It’s been a while since I’ve drawn Hawke, and she’s gotten a few upgrades as a result! Here she is, looking a tiny bit more period-accurate for her final design.

Here are the notes:
-The first thing you may notice is that she now has a skirt instead of pants. I was kind of conflicted over this decision: one part of me was saying “hey, the pants are cute” and the other was like “okay well a skirt would be more in line with actual WW1-era fashion,” and it was hard to pick. I asked my sister for input and she said she preferred the pants, but ultimately the skirt just felt right, so I went with that.
-Related to that last point, her coat is a bit longer now. This is also meant to evoke the fashion of the era; lots of dresses were designed to have a similar silhouette.
-Her shoes are also more period-accurate, but they still have their metal toes and heels.
-Overall, her hair and the leather parts of her outfit are a lot darker than they were in my original design. This is meant to make her look more cohesive, as the darker brown matches the feather accessory better.
-Speaking of the feather, it’s meant to be from a Eurasian sparrowhawk, which is a type of hawk found in Britain. I specifically referenced female feather markings for the design.
-My sister actually posed for this piece! It’s always fun when she does that.
-The background is meant to resemble Olympic’s hull. Hawke’s collision with Olympic is arguably the most well-known event of her career, and it’s certainly the only reason I know about her at all, so between that and the scars I feel like she can never truly escape the shadow of that day. The background is a reference to that.
-The title for this one comes from Snakes by PVRIS and MIYAVI, as featured in Arcane.
