Description Was anyone expecting this to be my next humanized ship? She doesn’t even exist, so she’s certainly the odd one out among the fleet, the rest of whom are or at least were real at some point. I originally didn’t plan to add her to my ocean liner humanization list, but a while back I thought something along the lines of “lol what if I add Titanic II and she’s just an android haha” and voila, an idea was born, and now she’s joined their ranks as a (probably) sentient robot!

Design Notes:
-The first thing you’ll probably notice is that she has blonde hair instead of red. This sets her apart from the original Titanic and allows her to fit in with the trend of Titanic gijinkas having blonde hair (as I was conceptualizing this design I was fretting a bit about whether my Titanic was “good enough” with her red hair, so my choice to make Titanic II blonde was influenced a bit by that too. I’ve since become more secure in the knowledge that my Titanic is just fine regardless of hair color, thankfully). However, she still has the black under-layers and white stripe.
-Her eyes are green because it both goes with her hair color and looks cool and robotic! I also considered red or blue (Dovewing moment right there haha) as well as heterochromia, but ultimately my original choice - green - prevailed. She has little power symbols in her eyes; these are clear glass while the rest of the iris is green, so as long as the white lights inside her eyes are on the power symbols glow white. The rest of the irises glow green, and the sclerae are opaque.
-Her right arm is broken and being held on with duct tape. This ties into the accompanying storyline of the ocean liner continuity (I’ll post the writing part once I’ve gotten the various pieces finished!), in which her introduction goes poorly and Olympic ends up accidentally tearing her arm off. It’s fixed with tape, but due to the wiring being ruined her arm doesn’t actually work.
-I designed her clothes very pragmatically, so only the skirt and the flowy parts on her arms and legs are actual fabric. Everything else (bodice, gloves, stockings, etc.) is just the same material used for her skin, but in different colors. The reasoning behind this is that a full dress, opera gloves, and stockings would get caught in her joints easily, damaging the fabric and, quite possibly, her body. The joints on her limbs, upper torso, and hands are exposed rather than being covered in fake skin like her face and waist, which can be covered up due to being relatively simple* - this means the exposed joints can’t have fabric too close to them to reduce the risk of it getting caught. This is why the draping on her dress extends all the way down (it’s less likely to get caught where it is, albeit still something of a risk) but her actual skirt doesn’t, and why her flowy sleeves are attached via buttoning armbands.
-Her neck should be articulated the same way as her waist, but it’s not. This was just a stylistic choice to make her look cooler/more robotic.

*However, she can still make mostly-realistic facial expressions; how this would work is beyond me (I’m not a tech person!) but I imagine it’s probably either very small mechanisms, nanotech, or maybe even magic.

Differences From Real Titanic:
-Color changes to hair and eyes detailed above
-Shorter skirt, but sheer draping extends to the floor
-Slightly more peach-colored skin, more like Britannic or Traffic than Titanic
-“Gloves” are slightly shorter
-She’s actually a bit taller (about 6’6”) than regular Titanic, as her heels are built in. Titanic is about that tall when wearing her normal shoes
-Doesn’t wear a corset and as such is capable of bending at the waist all the time
-“Stockings” are a lighter color, giving the impression that they’re more sheer than Titanic’s thick black ones
-Belt thing (actually not fabric) is more of a yellow color, like modern (and some contemporary) depictions of White Star Buff sometimes appear
-Only has the black parts of the Grand Staircase dome design on her bodice; no gold except on the collar area
-The crystal star, representing Titanic’s silvery White Star Line necklace, is embedded into her chest rather than being a separate piece, for the same reasons as the fabric. Also, it’s smaller and set in a larger gold-colored star
-Also for those reasons, she’s missing the Morse code necklace as well
-Speaks in a received pronunciation (RP, or the Queen’s English) accent all the time, unlike regular Titanic who has a Belfast accent and only affects the RP accent in formal situations
-Smiling is her default expression. She has no resting face.

Personality:
Unlike all the others, Titanic II never actually existed as a ship, meaning she lacks the prior life experience and connections her new friends have. She’s completely new to the world, and as such she takes her namesake’s youthful nature and naivete to a new level; others tend to regard her as stupid because of this, but in reality she’s simply still in the process of learning about the world, something which she’s very eager to do. She’s curious and inquisitive, and like her namesake she’s very sweet; all she wants to do is learn about the world and find her place within it.
Hampering her ability to learn and grow, however, is her relative lack of close relationships with others. Many of the other ships find her unnerving at best, although Mackay-Bennett likes her, as do several of the younger ships like Queen Mary 2. The Olympic-class liners especially dislike her, as do many of their contemporaries; they find her horrifically insensitive, not to mention rather creepy. This means that although Titanic II would very much like to be friends with her legendary namesake, the chances of that ever happening are quite slim.
Not helping matters is the fact that she knows little actual history; everything she knows about her namesake comes from pop culture. Although she’s learned about the existence of Olympic and Britannic - the hard way, in Olympic’s case - she still believes all the other pop-cultural myths and misconceptions, such as the idea that Titanic was attempting to set a speed record when she hit the iceberg. This lack of knowledge only makes her seem more like a cruel mockery in the other ships’ eyes, further alienating her. Thankfully, she does have Mackay-Bennett to help teach her the truth, and besides, it’s not like several other ships don’t subscribe to those same misconceptions.

Regarding her name: is it 2 or II?
Good question. Clive Palmer's project, which was the main inspiration for this design (but not the only one - she's kind of an amalgamation of various concepts and proposals for replica Titanics) seems to have it written as II rather than 2, and this is part of the ship's name (as opposed to, say, Queen Mary 2, where it's not written using Roman numerals). As such, you'll see Titanic II and others such as Kaiser Wilhelm II written with Roman numerals, whereas others like Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2 use Arabic numerals. It really depends on how it's officially written, either on the ship or in official documents and announcements. A select few ships are also given numbers after their names despite not actually having them (e.g. "Mauretania 2" is actually just named Mauretania) so as to distinguish them from others with the same names; these will be written using Arabic numerals because there's not really a reason for me to do otherwise.
