Description
This mushroom is a very rare species (in that way it has no common English name). It grows between grass on very poor soils.These fungi can be seen from October till end November (time given for Northern Europe).

These are indeed edible, but can be confused with similar poisonous species.

It took me all this time to bring my field guide to work! It mentions a handful of Hygrocybes, but not this particular one. There also are no pictures.

The one on the moss was lying a little further (some one probably kicked it down). I placed it that way the gills are visible.

i want to see them up close & extremely personal In that case you'll have to come to Europe in the month of November and with lots of luck (and some help of an experienced nature guide) you can find them. Maybe you should be satisfied with a look at this picture.
