The clipping mask tutorial is actually quite simple. As I don't know of any off the top of my head, I'll just explain to you briefly here.
For the first layer, make sure it is a transparent empty layer. Take out your splatter brush and put it in there wherever you'd like. Next, take a stock image. You are mainly just looking for the colors you specifically want over the splatter brush. Place it directly over the splatter brush layer. Right click the stock image layer and click on "Create Clipping Mask". Then, move that stock image layer around until it looks good where you want it. You will most likely need to duplicate that stock image layer, and erase some parts to make specific parts of the splatter brush to look how you want to. Just keep playing with that until you get what you would like to see.
