And you forgot that Sonic the Hedgehog and all related characters are Sega's properties,not Archie's to do with them, as they please. At the very least they should respect the characters roles and not make any of them secondary of characters from a dead show that no longer has any relevancy to the franchise in general.

BTW I'm not even anti-Sally nor do I hate her, much less care about couples that much, however I have a strong dislike for many of the bad decisions taken by Ian and how he uses the comic to only promote his personal couple regardless of the negative effects trying to force it has on the overall story. Having Sonsal in the cover would not have been much of a deal if it weren't for strategically having Amy on the cover, again putting a characterwho is the lead female in the games as nothing more than an extra, banning her from any potential character development because the focus is being placed where it does not belong. Let alone throwing his fist at people who support the idea of Sonamy out of sheer intolerance, like that time the comic staff publicly mocked one said Sonamy supporter by telling him that he was "maybe one out of three that support that one".

If he wants to continue with the Freedom Fighters (actually it's just Sally since most of the FF's no longer serve a purpose) and all that crap from SaTAM fine, but he should do it in fanfics, not in an official product that has the Sega brand, especially when many of the characters are portrayed poorly and that portrayal has an impact on how they are seen by the fanbase.

P.S. Sonamy & Vecpio supporter, much better than the forced Sonally and the silly idea of "they are meant to be together"

SEGA approves everything the archie comic does. Don't forget, the Arcbhie people wanted to KILL OFF Sally at one point, and SEGA told them not to do it, so they didn't.

ONLY because of the MONEY that Archie was putting in for their part! NO ONE can turn down a deal that pays BIG TIME Money! If it weren't for the money that Archie was offering to SEGA, Sonic wouldn't even HAVE a comic by Archie! Long story short, its a MONEY-HUNGRY world out there, & as long as Archie keeps on paying SEGA to use Sonic in their (STUPID!) Comics, I'm afraid they won't stop, ever... (WHICH I PERSONALLY THINK IT SUCKS, Cause I don't like the Archie Comics much either! I always despised Sally! )

Personally I really don't mind SonSal. Actually my real problem with the comic is how for Ian makes that couple at the expense of Amy, and frankly I think that a character that has been part of the franchise for 18 years (since the Shogakukan manga in April 1992, even predating Tails by that date) deserves a much better treatment.

True, but with all do respect, archie did make amy go out with Sonic. Now I don't remember in which issue it was, or was it intentional, but Amy wasn't always treated badly, especially in the early comics.

Even when I'm a sonamy fan, the character of Amy for me takes more priority. The main reason I did it was because they added Amy in the background for no other reason than to mock her and mock the people who supprts that couple (like the time a sonamy fan was publicly mocked in the comic when the staff literally told him that he was probably one out of three people who support said couple (again showing how they are un-professional, as if misshandling a franchise, along with the characters who for all purposes are trademarks that belong to Sega, not to Ian, much less Archie to mishandle, mistreat them or humilliate them as they please wasn't bad enough.

Heck I find a double standard when it is OK for them to mock not only a fan, but also a customer, while on the other hand I get a warning from a biased moderator in the SoA forums for posting a pic of Amy hitting Ian in his rear end, as a visual representation that he needs to wake up and realize he is taking the comic in the wrong direction.

I'd like to respond to this, but I doubt that my response will hold any merit to you, considering you already know my stance on the character of Amy. I have no problem with Amy fans, but the character herself means less than nothing to me. However, I will agree that Archie's a rather unprofessional group. I was a bit startled when I read said comment about a reader being one of the few Sonamy fans, but I got over it, although now I'm thinking that's probably only because I despise the couple so much.

Admittedly, I think the fact that you got a warning on SoA due to that image probably had more to do with the fact that you were insulting a person than anything else. I don't think that they'd have reacted as strongly if you had, say, Amy tearing up an Archie comic or something. Not that I'm telling you to change your art; draw what you want -- this is just a theory.

(Before the end of this comment, I'd like to point out one misconception people have about me; they think I'm a Sonamy hater because I'm a comic fan. This couldn't be less true. I hated Sonamy, and disliked the character of Amy, far before I even begin to read the Archie comics. So don't call me biased like everyone else does.)

Nah, I'm not Ian to dismiss other's opinions just because they disagree with mine or don't fit my preferences. And to each their likings. Still if I continue to defend Amy is because this is a very particular case of a character that never did anything wrong, storywise & gameplay wise (especially this point in the 2-D games, where she was the only one who actually tried something new without taking away from Sonic).

A think that always bottered me with Archie is that they never explained why the need to mock one of their readers in public (and even adressing it in a private way is no good either since a professional never talks back to a customer. Instead they could have said that the focus on Sonsal was because it was a different story, but instead they dismissed the obvious and acted delusional. And regardless of wether it was mocking a Sonamy fan or any other couple or character, they were mockign a reader, which pretty much say how much they care for their fanbase since the only priority seems to be to focus on a cast of characters from a dead show that on top was cancelled (and not to mention that even members of the very Sonic Team disapproved it when they saw the pilot episode).

And here we go to another point were I strongly oppose Archie, the undermining of characters, and not only Amy, but also Tails, Knuckles and the rest of the game cast, of whom we barely see them in the games, and the comic that was suppossed to develop them as character comes off as a let down when you see that the only thing the comic has in common with the games is the name because even the titular hedgehog has to take a back seat to Sally, going out of character to fit the very personal view of only one single person who before anything else was a fan like any of us. It is OK if he does it for his own personal amusement because it has no impact in the way people see characters, however the moment he went from fanfic writter to "professional" he should have put aside his personal bias and focus only on the task that was given to him, which was to provide stories and adventures for the Sonci characters, not to get his fanfic couple together.

Regarding the Ian pic I don't regret in the slightest doing in and hell will I ever apologize for it (you may even agree that was is being depicted is nothing compared to what he has done to the comic). Heck even if I did hate art to Sally the only one person I would apology to would be E-122 Psi and no one else. (one of the very few members I respect)

And finally I don't considere you biassed (as opposed to a large portion of the comic fans who will agree with anything said becuase it's an official product, just as how even a large part of the game fanbase swallow all the lies and excuses Sega writes, especially when they concern the 2-D games). And since you gave your reasons I might as well establish that even when I do support Sonamy, I only do it to a certain extent. I know where it starts and where it has to end, because the moment I see those two together as a formal couple, let alone married, it will lose the meaning it has. To me that one is like a shooting star, it is something beautiful you rarely see and it last no more than half a second and it has to be kept that way, otherwise it will lose all that makes it special and unique and become a common event. Same happens with both characters. The moments in which they truly understand each other are rare, but they exist. Also if prefer to keep them apart, because Sonic has to run, following no other master other than the wind that is free, and Amy, she has to keep chasing an impossible dream, and even when one might think she is a foolish child (and yes, even I agree that sometimes she can be annoying) nevertheless she is a foolish child that will never give up on her dream, and that is one of the reaons I respect her.

And this brings us to yet another reason I strongly dislike what is being done with her character: they are forcing her to quit her dreams in favor of a character that at least for me has absolute no meaning to the franchise. Why force Amy to go back to the routinary life she had? (Every day's the same old thing... Same place, different day...). That is altering a character to the point where they betray what they stand for, just as having Sonic getting married and becomming a king that will rot on a throne betrays the sense of a hero who follows no one, bows to no king and lives by his rules and will always run freely to wherever the neverending horizon reaches.

Perhaps it was. I'm just pointing out that this picture + your comment was a bit of a fail in my opinion, considering the circumstances of this being a re-drawn cover with the Amy alteration. Did I say that Sonamy fans needed to shut up and move on? No. However, I think this is a bit silly, if anything. I'm not a huge Amy fan, (in fact, I hate her, and not because of Archie. I always have. She's an annoying brat of a fangirl who the series, in my opinion, would be better off without. If you disagree, all the more power to you. Congratulations, you have an opinion.) but it's not like I go out of my way to tell people that Amy sucks on Amy art. This peice just annoyed me because of the concept.
