Again, I try another art app that is actual well known and even one of my friends has used it before and recommended it to me. Here I try ibisPaint X.
This was a 7/10 for me.
The app is well known, I’ll give it that. I liked the circle cursor, which was useful. But it is better for artists that go for a more manual approach. And according to the tools to the left, it’s seems more like a photo editor than an art application, but at the same time, this app isn’t really compatible with my kind of style.
Along with being more manual, the settings for anything from pen pressure to tool type were complex as hell, so I did not feel like playing around with that. And a few cons, the app has its own ad that you need to pay to remove more some reason. And also, trying to be careful with coloring, I kept activating the eye dropper by holding the pen in place. Any hold more than one millisecond can activate it, so that’s was annoying. All in all, this app is better for anime artists that are professional and prefer a complex and manual compatibility.
