This really is very amazing - it almost looks more like a pencil or charcoal sketch than an actual photo. Which to me gives the piece sooo much more character, just incredible. Lovely work (once again).

Birches! ___ I'm at the countryside at the moment and I was thrilled to see a proper birch forest again. This is lovely!

I love this. This is one of the most beautiful nature pictures I've seen of yours. I just like it alot. It looks like a barcode but, then you notice they are trees. It's sooo pretty. I want to see this forest you always take pictures of in real life one day. It's so lovely. I could imagine going for walks... hiking around and just taking in the very delicacy of the natural beauty of these woods. You portray the delicacy so well in your photos. I love this one. Definately a favorite.

Not for everyone, but I like it, and that 2 plan concept (birches in front of birches at background).

Brr beautiful but so cold, in all senses. I like that this is white with black as a feature instead of the common other way round.
Very fragile and delicate.

i like the contrast in this shot... its very simple and makes very good use of strong black and whites without being too contrasty or too bright
very lovely

i love birch trees........ you've done an amazing job with them.

the lack of detail works in a way i wouldn't have expected as well as the varying degrees of contrast, good job

nice picture, very cold. i can't believe how people can survive in this extreme weather...it looks absolutely horrible

Extreme weather eh? I think you're the first one to describe the winter in southern Sweden as extreme. I think disappointing is a better word.

But it does look a bit more extreme in this shot than it really was though

Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, i think you could describe it as disappointing....maybe its because i'm used to the sunny days of florida

Very surreal, looks more like a drawing, but thats not in a bad way.

I think that some of the time a good picture is made excellent by its title, I think it is certainly so in this case, very clever title and not a bad picture to go with it.

cool capture did u turn it to b/w or was it that way?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

snader In reply to beaucarnea [2005-02-24 20:01:15 +0000 UTC]

I made it b/w in photoshop, but it wasn't relly a big change. The image was more or less b/w already.

cansrox [2005-02-21 19:22:51 +0000 UTC]

why did u decide to have a white frame for this pic?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

snader In reply to cansrox [2005-02-24 20:07:18 +0000 UTC]

The only time I use black frames is when I have very warm and saturated colors in a shot ([link] [link] ), otherwise I think white is much better. Also, in this particular shot, a black frame contrast too much with the bright shot.

It's beautiful, almost abstract. Can definitely see the barcode link, though I'm not sure it's what I would associate a photograph like this one with.
