The idea behind this was that Johnny knocks Edgar out and drags him to an alley in preparation to transport him to his house but then gets distracted by other assholes and wanders off. Jimmy, who has been following Johnny for weeks sees Edgar and thinks to kill him as tribute to Nny but then Edgar wakes up. And since I’m assuming that Edgar takes better care of himself that Jimmy doesn’t really stand a chance.

Cue Jimmy stalking Edgar for weeks, trying to finish the job but failing. Edgar thinks Jimmy is fixated on him in a creepy romantic way. Which he isn’t, at least not a first.
