Seren had to admit, knowing their camp was surrounded by spites was more than unsettling, yet even then they sat in the rain, tail flicking in anticipation. They knew better, they were just a kid afterall; no one had to tell them it wasn’t wise to go after creatures barely smaller than themselves and could easily piece skin.

And yet, when Ducky threw the idea to the little quill, They couldn’t help the feeling of wanting to accept the offer. What was life without a little danger right?

No. It was wrong, staying at camp would be the best thing to do; even if it was under the weak guise of staying to watch over a recent friend they’ve made. Though it wasn’t a complete lie. The seemingly shy yellow wyngling somehow managed to wriggle his way into Seren’s heart, and a large part of the bird gro simply wanted nothing more than to keep him safe and at ease; if staying at camp would do that, then that’s what they’d do.

Seren suddenly felt a light tug on their arm, turning to see the aforementioned wyngling standing next to them, raindrops causing his hair to slick down and stick to his face. A small smile formed on Seren’s lips before they stood from their spot.

“Come on, we're both getting wet out here.” they said, somewhat suppressing the chuckle that formed in their throat. Gently grabbing Shasta’s arm before making their way into the tent where the other wynglings, along with Koevit, were holed up. The two dried up as much as they could before settling down. Seren took a seat next to their boo Zora while Shasta took the other side of the beloved pet. Ezra was seated in the corner with their own companion.

Silence took over the small group, and the quiet pitter patter of the rain didn’t help calm any tension in the tent. All of the sudden, Seren’s ears perked up at the sound of ukulele being plucked.

A blue wyngling had seated himself next to Seren, and he offered them a smile. “Nothing like a bit of music right?” He strummed a few chords before shifting his position.

“Yeah. Music actually sounds great right about now.” Seren beamed

David smiled yet again and started strumming his uke in a simple pattern, Seren looked around and their expression softened as they noticed shasta watching the other wyngling play, Ezra doing the same. They allowed themselves to relax and listened to the tune that drowned out the outside world.

All too soon, night fell and anyone who remained at camp had drifted to sleep.

Pretty much instead of spite hunting Seren takes the advice of wynglings should stay in camp. for now at least.
