Description

Koda let out a sigh as he chased off yet another shamble from camp. Since the beginning of spring, more and more spites found its way to his camp. Luckily it wasn’t anything too bad, the occasional yittle and more annoying than threatening shamble.
He walked further into the camp to see if there was anymore before he turned around. “Alright come on you two, it’s safe,” he called out and watched as Aridel and Leir stumbled out of the bushes and into the clearing, both carrying some fruits and mushrooms to the best of their ability.

“More spites again?” Leir had asked as he set their gatherings on the ground.

“Yep.” Koda sighed out, rubbing his temple before leaning against a tree.

“Really? That’s the what, fourth time this week?” Del had sat down and put Pepo on top of her head.

Koda fought the frustrated growl that built in his throat, “fifth, but that just makes things worse,” he said as he slid down the tree trunk.

Del and Leir looked at each other, both sensing their dad’s irritation. Leir merely shrugged before Del picked up a small white down feather and walked towards Koda before tapping him on the leg and presenting him the feather.

“You wanna see more magic?” Koda asked as he grabbed the feather. Through the past months he’s used his magic to entertain them every so often. Usually with wind magic and creating small wind gust to lift leaves and feathers into the air before watching them float back down. Del nodded in affirmation before sitting down and waiting.

“Alright, here we go then,” Koda threw the feather and decided to try something different; Instead of blowing it away, he focused on trying to draw the air towards him, and in turn the feather. It worked for a little bit before koda lost it and the small vacuum he created dissipated.

“That was new.” Leir stated as he munched on one of the fruits they had collected, “What was it?”

Koda went back to the basics and simply blew the feather around while Del watched. “It’s more wind magic but a harder ability to learn.”

“Woah, are there more like it?” Del asked.

“Well I mean yeah, there’s all types of magic, Light, ice, lightning, the list goes on.”

“Can you do all of them?”

“Well, no, but I’m learning. Kind of hard though.”

Del jumped and gave him a hug, “I think you can do it.”

“Me too!” Leir exclaimed.

“Thanks you two, now go eat, I need to think about how to deal with our little spite problem.

“Okay!” Del said as she rushed over to join her brother.

    Koda smiled fondly at the two before looking up and watching leaves dance in the wind. He frowned as he thought over their situation, The spites seemed to be coming more and more every day and he’s been getting little sleep over it; feeling the need to keep guard above getting sleep on his own. Magic had also been getting harder to learn, especially without any guides, or books.

    Koda chuckled at the thought, ‘Books, that’s something Esmeree would bring up’ He thought fondly. That’s something else to add, he missed having other’s to talk to and no doubt, L and Del would eventually need friends, his company would only be enough for so long.

    Giving the two siblings one more glance, and going over the factors once more, Koda came to one conclusion.

    It was time to head back to town.
