lol Yeah yeah, I know I said I'm staying away. But good news, the acupuncturist said it's actually better to exercise my hand by drawing but take break right away if I feel any pain. Better than quitting for a month then coming back.Kinda like quit training then suddenly running a marathon.
So for now, no complicated drawings. Just simple comic strips. No Nightmare Exchange until later, I guess.
I also have to massage it in hot oil/stretch twice a day.

having lost an index finger, i think i can relate (somewhat)β¦
the recovery process is long, arduous, and not at all in the manner of a straight line...
hands are amazingly capable, yet surprisingly delicate instruments (yes, instruments, NOT machines)β¦
they can be damaged very easily through improper use and/or operator error...
you might consider simply working one panel at a time, then taking the required breaksβ¦
not sure if your creative flow would support this, but it would decrease the amount of immediate stress placed upon the hand at any one time...
I daresay it took a handful of years (no pun intended) before i even began to "forget" about the injury,
that is, began noticing myself using the hand "normally" again...
does the phrase "a Snail's pace" ring any bells�

It was in 1987, and i broke the first rule for Mechanicsβ¦
(Regardless of the fact that my employer basically told me to do it), I should have known better than to stick my hand into a moving machineβ¦
my left index finger was twisted and crushed⦠I spent 7 months with K-wires pinning the the bones in place, but they would not knit back together,
which also ruled out a standard tendon repair process⦠this left the index finger curled in and unable to be straightened or flexed out of the way of the rest of my hand,
so the entire hand was kinda useless, and i wanted my hand back, at the very least...
I was given a choice of a series of 7 surgeries, each of which had a less than 50% success rate, and a 3-6 month wait between each operation,
a LOT of time for someone like me to get that hand into trouble and mess up the process for goodβ¦
OR, i could "lose" the finger, and have around 75% of my normal hand function back in around 8-12 weeks, with the full strength returning within a few months...
i didn't really even see how that WAS a choice, lolβ¦
fortunately, i had already stumbled across the best hand doctor in that state at that time, so it worked out OK,
though it kinda ruined my guitar skills (which were never more than mediocre, form a playing standpoint),
and kept me from learning to type properly⦠other than that, i rarely notice it anymore, and i DO have my left hand back in decent working order...
sorry for the long response, but i honestly kept that story as short as i know how, lol...
