There is no better way of expressing relationship of mother and child, than through nursing. This is beautifull work well captured especially the look in baby's eyes that same look full of trust and love my lil one used to have when I was nursing her. There nothing more natural than that. When I was nursing lil one on plane or airport or street and park people used to look at me wierd almost as if i should cover up, but I stood defiant because it is special relationship that only builds the bond and sets up not only the parent child relationship but also sets the child for later in life. Well done keep it up!

Thank you Sandra...it is something no stranger can take away from you
Perhaps you should do some nursing paintings in support of this beautiful thing.
If you have time that is.. I know how busy you must be
:hugs:

Oh boy,
Just the Art thing..Trying to be a proffessional artist..
I have been amazingly lucky so far to have a partner who believes in me and people who want to buy my work.
I have two little ones, but I managed to get a nanny from my sales..it means I can continue to paint and try to build it up..my skills etc.
I am also going to be making my site into an art community for people like you and I and other with talent to sell the work in order to keep painting.

I have two shows coming up and more in the works..it is a tough road being a mom and an artist, but i wouldt want to do anything else.

i think you summed it up in last sentence its tough but it is experience filled up with self satisfaction,

trying to make some money out of the art is hard, its painfull full of heartbreak where one has to sacrefice a lot but selling these few even though it was for peanuts made me feel like million bucks. I am hoping to at least cover some of my medical expenses through sales but still its better than nothing.

Ver;y tender and well done. I especially like the close-up perspective. I makes it very personable.

Really? Thank you! I love this..perhaps because I nursed both my children. I do find that todays society is aweful toward nursing though and that makes me so so sad.
I hung this up in a coffee shop just to see the reaction it would get and to be honest it was mostly negative/discust etc

I'm with you on this one. There is nothing more tender and beautiful than a mother nursing her child. Societies priorities are getting so screwed up sometimes that I'm speechless. This is a wonderful painting and shouldn't be controversial.

Baby is very cute. Interesting reversal of the usual warm front, cool back - I think it works well because it evokes the warm connection between the baby's cheek nestled against mother's breast.

I think that this is a very good idea for a serie because still today a lot of people seem to be disturb by this natural link between the mother & child. Beautiful painting !

You know what hits me the most ? it's the fact that today in 2007 ! a lot of people will find that a mother who feeds her child in a public area is not a place to do so & is more discusting than a criminal act of violence on the street. It seems that in this society a mother should hide almost in shame to feed naturaly her child. That is why I think that your serie is a good thing to show those people out there that brest feeding is a normal & natural act.

Yes I love nursing and loved every second of it..but it did take a long time to feel comfortable to do it in public..because of what you said..
Many people look at you as if you are from a nother planet.
It is a sad shame that this world is coming to this.

Yes lets feed our babies formula full of chemicals and lets let their immune system be harmed from lack of immunities from their mother

Anyway don't get me started on this issue
