Description The Last Battle
Illustration inspired by the last book of "Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis.

"The subject came to my mind after reading some posts on Facebook about next movies based on other books from „Chronicles of Narnia” series. I was wondering if last of the books, „The Last Battle” will ever be filmed and how it will look like.
„The Last Battle” was very sad book and it was always hard for me to find inspiration for painting any of the scenes from this story. One of the most sad moments was just a mention of massacre of centaurs. All these brave warriors are gone? I wanted to represent this moment, but not as a death scene, but to show their bravery and will to fight till the end."

Yes, it's Roonwit. I have read these books many times, however it's always hard for me to return to "The Last Battle". I guess You may know why.

It was hard to accept the end of these stories and how many characters died. "The Last Battle" is the "darkest" of all Narnia books, which makes difficult for me to find inspiration for illustrations.

you said it but even though they died, they found true Joy. C. S. Lewis is telling us that "IN CHRIST, DEATH TURNS THE PAGE TO THE GREATEST STORY OF ALL.

Fantastic and epic and extremely heartbreaking to think about, but I love the fierce way you show the Centaur here- a being who's not about to step aside for the slaughter.

Your stock photo was the only reference material from deviantART. I have a large collection of own reference material and I don't have to mention it. Is this kind of problem?
