the dialogue feels natural, the characters's motivations are interesting, their reactions are coherent, and the mystery bit intrigues me. It's really, really well written. And Snap's art translates all of this super well!

Plot armor is almost the same thing as Deus ex machina. It's anything that prevents the main character(s) from dying prematurely.
