Description

While fleshing out the world of my characters, I felt that the most interesting focal point is the school that Kit and Duncan attended as kids. As far as developing the actual hometown, I don’t have a lot of material yet other than it has a mix of Shifters and humans, more of the former than the latter.

From left to right:

Beatrice Verne, the English teacher. One of the rarer cases of a genuinely caring teacher, at least in this school.

Spencer McClover, the science teacher. Overly skittish and not properly qualified to handle the science equipment, but at least he can give textbook page numbers.

Baxter Quilliam DeCrow, the music teacher. A grumpy old codger who adores the subject matter he teaches, but hates children singing offkey.

Yvonne Cheetham, the school counsellor. Always accompanied by her service dog, Crumpet, due to her blindness and anxiety (actually based on the fact that cheetahs can be given companion dogs to help with anxiety in zoos)

Simon Bowers, the maths teacher. Also Duncan’s dad. A bit too overly friendly and gets on Baxter’s nerves a little.

Beth Francis, the art and PE teacher. Generally disliked by everyone in the school, even the staff. Basically just a massive entitled bitch.

Douglas Oswald, the headmaster. Ugly old bird with a Napoleon complex. Very good at giving the evil glare.

Lorraine Poole, the dinner lady. Generally nice enough, and she serves jam sponge on Fridays.
