My chipper friend cmoontoon has just held a design contest and being constantly updated on the entires and helping with the judging I realized the following:
WOW THAT'S ACTUALLY A LOT OF FUN AND I WANT TO DO THAT TOO???
So here is my own design contest!!
What I want you to design for me is.....
~SPACE GIRLS °₊·ˈ∗
Well, the contest was about making a retro space girl. And I failed miserably. I had an idea in mind... and then I just made it and improved it and before I realized it I went so far from the theme... the design is too organic and I don't see any 80s/90s aesthetics anywhere (I had trouble with those because of purely practical reasons).
I was thinking about not even making it an entry, but I decided against it, because that's what it was made for. And all the theme stuff was just "suggestions" anyway... Kinda...?
As for the alien, it's a plant, a carnivorous one, actually. She didn't want to eat other creatures to live, so she made herself a robot body that helps her walk and produce her own energy. So a happy little plant she is.
I'm pretty happy with the design, but I'm really happy (even though it doesn't matter for the contest, but still) with the lights and shadows. I finally (kinda) managed the lightning being a different colour than the shadows. As always, please point out any mistakes you might find!

She's super cute, but my problem is that I have too many ideas, and I'd probably rarely use her (I love her hair tho). I'd just give her to you, but my plan is to redesign her with some better key features and brighter colours. Once I do, I may make it an adoptable.
If you're interested, I'll send you a note when it's done and give you a 50% discount if you win the bidding. Or just give it out for free, depending on how much I'll need the points : >

The concept behind this creature is great and i absolutely ADORE her face, she is so cute!!! I also really like how you drew her legs, but the torso and arms are kinda 'eh' in comparison :<
What drags this entry down a whole lot is the muddy colours, which i am REALLY not a fan of, as one glance at my gallery could tell anyone u_u
but seriously tho her face is SO cute ;;

My plan was to make the light from the plants neon-like and bright, but just as I said before, I failed (so that's why muddy colours lol -_-).
I'd be happy if you feature the design, even though I have no interest in selling it (unless someone actually wants it : P).
This contest really helped me practice character development, and it was super fun, so thank you for hosting it. (is that the right word to use here? whatever) If you ever decide to make another, you can count me in! (And I reckon a lot of people would say the same- also let's hope I manage the colours then)
