I've played around with that, that ragdoll is just goofy though. Imagine a sensual, slow, squirming death as some curvy custom NPC slowly gets sucked up into a Barnicle, and curched on, then has a pair of luscious, limp legs go limp and disappear into it's maw. The only thing in the way is hundreds of hours of grueling 3d modeling and animation work, haha.

Interestingly according to what I've just read on the Half-life wiki Dr. Vance's character is killed by the enemy in episode 2. Perhaps that piece of canonical detail may be true in this special story.
It never was stated out rightly whether Alyx's father is living or deceased.
