Yeah this little guys been getting a lot of hate in the 2 days of his existence, personally I don't see why. So this is some art to show my support of the 2DS, he has just as much potential as the 3DS C: Frankly I think he looks more comfortable to hold anyway and he's all retro and reminds me of my old Gameboy's which I still play today ^^Related content

I like it. I want a 3DS XL too but I really am liking the 2DS. It feels nice in my hands.
I got lucky and got it for free along with Pokemon X. We found it under a bed at a hotel we were staying at. lol I think it had been there from May-to August as far as I can tell. The only bad thing was a few very small scratches on the screens but other than that it's like new.

I mean Nintendo is for kids right?, well to me is 2ds much for little kids because i stand it why would kids playing in 3D on 3Ds becoming headaches or need a glasses but i find the design, meh not as much :/.

Although it does have a couple of issues like the touchscreen glitch, and thankfully not so common echos of the past, the black screen of death issue.
It is actually really well built
I did originally think that it was a bit on the plasticy side compared with the 3DS, but after a while you realize that it is the type of plastic they have used and the texture upon the plastic that gives this initial feeling. The device it's self is actually slightly more solid in construction than the 3DS, I find it is much easier to hold than the 3DS is too.

People hate it because...well, it gives someone an excuse to hate something with no backlash.
But I can find an actual reason to dislike it; it's supposed to be cheaper than the 3DS, but it isn't THAT much cheaper. It just feels cheaper in the hand. And second-hand 3DS' can be cheaper if you look around. So it's a good idea in theory, but it's cheaply made and poorly thought out on Nintendo's part.

its a GOOD idea. the 3d feature hurts childrens eyes and damages them under the age of 7. plus, its $40.00 cheaper. and, kids cant snap it in half, so yeah, its a great idea. im 19 and 3d hurts my eyes, and im gonna be buying a 2ds soon. lolz.

i actualy think i'll be getting this, though i might wait for some other color variations. a yellow and black one would really pop, and also bring me some serious nostalgia. my first ever handheld and second ever game console was a yellow gameboy pocket with a copy of pokemon red [which at the time i was too young to find rpgs fun and mainly played donkey kong instead]. and frankly i need more yellow in my life in more ways than one... also this is good for me cuz i could care less about the 3d feature and would keep it turned off most of the time anyways if i currently owned a 3ds. when i tried out a 3ds at gamestop it gave me an awful weird migrane type headache that lasted about an hour. plus im kinda digging the 'slice of bread' look this thing has. also i love rugged designed stuff so that makes me want it all the more.

I think there would be less hate if the shoulder buttons were not at the top, and the d-pad wasn't where it is. They should have kept the buttons and second screen in the same configuration as it is on the 3DS/DSi, and made a section on the back where your fingers go and there the shoulder buttons are.

I know what you're saying, but everything is where it is as it's mainly created for the younger demographic.
It's chunky so it's hard to break and designed for possibly smaller hands.
The price is cheaper so there's more chance that kids' parents will buy them it most likely.

I'm not so sure, its between the size of the 3DS and 3DS XL, and looking at the video, the kids seems to be having trouble keeping his fingers on the shoulder buttons. We'll see tho. P.S. Your drawing is so cute. I just want to kidnap that little 2DS and take it home to huggle it. That's not too creepy...is it?

lol you should type in nintendo 2ds in the deviantart search bar. Most of the deviations criticize the console but the comments section are filled with the creator's comments about how the artist 'can see why it actually makes sense'. Good to see someone actually liking it for a change and not making a deviation just for views and faves

yep, since my DS Lite broke (rendering it into a GBA Lite) it would be great to have something to play my DS games on with the added feature of playing 3DS games
