Amazing! I recently tried painting on plywood after using canvas for years. It's not an easy medium to work with. I admire your efforts.

Perhaps it's for a sense of ghostliness or for a melancholy feel?
A more natural skin tone wouldn't have contrasted as well with the orange dress and the background... I think that is what you were asking...
