I don't think I could ever bring myself to try Hasenpfeffer.

What a pity. Are there any PDF files of that book?

Ha-ha. I mean that the book does not exist. Fortunately, there are probably more available recipes for hasenpfeffer closer to where you live than to where I live.

I've seen only bits of the movie, but I know I like this guy. You see, I'm more into the lesser known characters that have..sorta gotten the shaft in the states.
But anyway before I stray too far from the point, fantastic work! I love the warm colours.

Fantastic! Like the expression and pose. Especially love the medium; pencil, I assume?
Finally got to see it a year ago thanks to Ytube. Even though it's not publicly seen in the US, the characters appear numerous times in the Italian 'Topolino' Disney books.

This brings back good memories. I remember watching "Song of the South" at the theater. I'm feeling old now. This really captures the charm and feel of the movie. Bravo!

What I would give to go back and time and be present for the opening night showings of some of those classic Disney films.

You can find the movie on YouTube, and see art far better than my own.

Hmm, what is that Br'er Fox up to now?
I love this movie. Everytime I watch it I wonder why don't they finally give it a DVD/Blu-Ray release? Too much time, effort and talent was put into this film for it to be locked away.

I agree. This would definitely look good on Blu-Ray, with its splendid colors for both the live action and the animated bits.

They need to have a DVD rerelease of this movie. Disney just needs to suck it up and not worry about the movie's racial relations, and just show it again. If people are offended, they'll have to get over it. The movie is somewhat historically accurate and it's not good to try to forget history. If you do that, it's bound to repeat itself.

While I can understand the unease that some feel for this film, it shouldn't be swept under the rug, but appreciated for its many strong points.

You're absolutely right! If they're willing to rerelease "The Black Cauldron", the movie they're ashamed of, they're perfectly capable of rereleasing "Song of the South"

Awesome drawing!
I only got to watch this film for the first time earlier this year. It's a real shame Disney's decided to hide it from the public. ;_;

Thank you. Truly it had some of the most beautiful art and refined animated ever committed to film by Disney.
