Description It was a lovely mid morning. The sun was just a shy few away from reaching noon time, the dew had come to dry from the rays of the sun, and there was a wonderful breeze taking the area. Canterlot gardens would get many visitors daily. From tourists to elegant guests to even little ones on a school field trip. It just so happen that a field trip was in progress as a teacher led her small class along the gardens. "The gardens hold many wonderful sights and stories of our nations great history." the teacher smiled to her students as she walked along. One of the students rushed forward with wide eyes as they asked, "Do you think we'll see any of the royals while we're here?" A few of the other kids grew excited as they began to chime in to.

"Will we see the King and Queen?"
"I wanna see Queen Luna."
"What about Princess Aurora? She's awesome."
"Princess Aurora only comes during the night."
"But what about Princess Light Breeze?"

The teacher gave a warm smile as she calmly settled down her class. "Alright boys and girls, let's settle down. While the royals are known to take many walks here in the garden, they may be preoccupied with other preparations. Especially Princess Light Breeze." "How come?" one of the foals asked as another said, "Because she's having a baby!" "It's true that the young Light is expecting," the teacher went on, "And judging by the time that's passed, it's really only a matter of time before we hear the good news. But seeing her out on a walk in the gardens is probably not something she'd be doing right now." The kids let out a sad awe as the teacher continued, "But not to worry, we'll have a chance to see something just as cool around the corner here. We're entering the part of the garden where they keep the statues." The kids let out an excited chatter as they followed there teacher along. Little did they know, just on the other side of the large hedge, two ponies walked along listening to the conversation. The unicorn stallion stood tall as his cape swayed from side to side. He chuckled to himself as he said, "Do you think we should have made a surprise visit?" Looking to an alicorn mare she looked back at him with smile, "Not today. Today I just wanna enjoy a nice walk outside."

"It's been awhile since we've had a walk outside together." he said. Her violet eyes flickered as she said playfully, "I wonder why." "Hey, I take my orders from the King very seriously." "And that being?" He looked at her belly, "Making sure you and the baby are safe." Her belly was as round as a watermelon, indicating how far she was in her pregnancy. She rolled her eyes, "Oh Mythic, you and my father seem to have more in common each and every day." "Light, I'm hurt!" he exclaimed, "But for once I'm with your dad. Better safe than sorry." "I'll give you this," Light said, "You've been handling this whole pregnancy thing better than expected. For a guy who worries over every single little thing, you've been pretty level-headed." "Look I know when we were younger, I've had my moments but I've learned to just roll with it." Mythic replied. Light raised a brow as Mythic chuckled nervously, "Mostly." Light rolled her eyes as she let out a huge sigh. "You okay?" he asked. "Just because I let out heavy sighs, doesn't mean something's wrong." Light snapped slightly. "Just checking." Mythic backed off. "It's just the usual pressure in my lower back." Light continued. "Do you wanna start heading back to the castle?" Mythic asked. "No, I'll manage." Light said straightening up, "I want to soak in my time outside as much as possible." They continued walking close by one another as the pressure from her lower back continued. She tried brushing it off, not wanting to go back inside so soon. So she began to stretch out, her wings unfolding as Mythic looked at her in confusion. "You doing okay there, Breezie?" Mythic asked in confusion. "A little stretch can do some good." she replied as she let out a long breath. As she straightened back up she winced, feeling a sharp pain. This feels different. She thought to herself as she went back beside Mythic. Mythic looked at her with a questioning stare but decided not to press on.

Going under an arch, they turned to one another with a smile. Mythic cupped the side of her face as she beamed at him. "I love you Princess Light Breeze." "And I love you Mythic-" she started before an intense pain overcame her. It made her cringe over as she let out a sharp cry. "Breezie!" Mythic said crouching next to her. Light could feel her stomach harden as the pressure in her lower back got more intense. "I-Is the baby kicking again?" Mythic asked. Light tried to find words when she suddenly felt a popping sensation from her lower quarters, her eyes widened. A lump laid in her throat as reality hit. "Mythic," she said with a clear voice, "I think it's time." Mythic gulped, "It's time?" Looking to him with round eyes she said, "The baby's coming." "The baby's coming? You mean like right now as we speak or-" A contraction came over Light as she let out another short cry, crouching down. Mythic quickly offered his hoof to help keep her on her hooves as she clung onto it. "O-Okay, you're going into labor. I mean wow okay. This is-this is what we've been getting ready for." Mythic began. "Mythic?" Light said softly as she looked to her husband. "I-I mean I knew it would be soon but I thought we at least had m-maybe a few days time." he continued with sweat beginning to beat down his face. Light tried to focus her breathing while trying to get his attention, "Mythic." "But now that it's actually happening and you're in labor and I'm starting to forget what we've been preparing for. Do we teleport? No wait no, that's stupid! That could be a danger for you and the baby. I can carry! Y-yeah we can do that. But can't have you laying on your stomach. What if it harms you? Or the baby?" Light let out a huge breath as she gritted, "Mythic." "Come on Mythic, think! What are we going to do? I knew a walk would have been too much, I should have listened to the King. He'll have my head for sure if I let anything happen to you or the baby on my watch! Gah! This can't be happening right now, I'm not ready!"

"MYTHIC!" Light shouted as she squeezed his hoof. Mythic yelped slightly as he lowered himself to Light's level. Light had sweat beating down her face as she scowled at him. "There's one pony having a baby here," she said in between breaths, "Panicking is the last thing we need." "You're right, you're right." Mythic said as he gulped, "It's just, I'm feeling a lot right now." "You're telling me." Light muttered as she felt a contraction. Pressing her forehead into Mythic's neck, she clenched his hoof as the pain came and went. Letting out a breath she said, "I can still walk. We have more than enough time to walk back to the castle and get to the personal clinic." "I'm sorry Light." Mythic started as Light cut in, "It's okay, you're feelings are just as valid as much as mine are right now. But maybe one of us needs to be level headed? Preferably the one who isn't in labor." Mythic took in a huge breath as he breathed out, "Okay, let's get to the castle." Holding onto him, Mythic guided Light through the garden to head back to the castle. She took a few breaks in between to take in some breaths of support before reaching the entrance to the castle. The guards at the entrance looked at the Princess's distressed state as Mythic said, "Send word to the King and Queen that the Princess is headed for the clinic. She's in labor." The guards nodded as they let them through the doors. As they made their way through the castle they finally came to the doctors clinic. "Okay we're here!" Mythic said in some relief. Heading to the counter, a receptionist stood. "Do you have an appointment?" she asked. "Uhh no but-" Mythic started as she cut in, "Okay, you'll have to wait till patients with an appointment get seen first, mkay? Name of the patient." Mythic and Light shared a dumbfounded look as Mythic said, "Light Breeze." "Mmm is that with a t or a ght?" she asked. "It's the Princess." Mythic said. "Hmm okay." she said as she wrote down something, "And the drop in is for?" "She can't be serious right now." Mythic muttered as he said, "She's in labor." Looking up from her clipboard she looked at the two as Light was doing her best to take her mind off of the pain. Leaning back in her chair she said, "I suppose I could squeeze you in. Down the hall, first door on your left. I'll send for a nurse to get you started."

They walked past her as they headed down the hall. Upon entering the room Mythic said, "Is she new or something? Like does she not notice you're in labor or that your the Princess." "M-Maybe we can talk about the encounter after this?" Light groaned as another contraction started to creep upon her. "Right right right," Mythic said, "Do you want me to take your gear or get you some water or maybe have you lay down? No wait, maybe I should let the nurse handle that stuff." "Mythic," Light growled, "If I wasn't in pain right now, I'd roundhouse you." "Sorry." he said quickly as Light's mood suddenly changed. Fear and pain was trickling in as she kneeled to the floor. "Ah Princess Light Breeze," came the sound of a nurse popping in, "Didn't expect to see you till at least for a another day or two. How are you doing?" "I'm managing." Light replied. "Can you tell me how close your contractions have been in the last fifteen minutes?" Light blinked a couple times as she gave it a quick thought. "W-well just now, it's down to every five minutes." "I see I see." the nurse said, "Well let's get you out of that beautiful attire and have you set up in the bed here." Assisting her, Mythic placed her armor to the side of the room as he helped her into the bed. "Now you're getting very close to active labor Princess. Which means your new foal will be coming soon as the contractions get longer and more frequent. It's only a matter of time now. Sit tight while I go grab some supplies we'll need for post birth. Keep her company in the meantime Mr Hope." She went out the room as they watched after her. After a moment of silence, Light turned to look at Mythic. "Mythic? Are you okay?" He was faced away from her as he said, "This is it. It's finally happening. After everything we'v ever been through, now we're having a baby." Looking down he said, "I know I said I was ready for this and I am, but I can't help but-" "Worry?" Light said. Mythic turned to face her, with small tears in his eyes. He gave a weak chuckle as Light smiled back. "I'm just as nervous as you are Mythic," Light began, "And not just about the labor part of things. Like, how this will effect everything. The Kingdom, my parents, you. I knew I wanted this and now that it's actually happening, I'm scared too." Mythic moved in on Light as he placed a hoof over hers. "Light." he drifted. "But so long as we have each other, we'll be okay." Light continued, "And maybe, we can be worried together?" Mythic couldn't help but smile as he brought her face close to his. Resting there foreheads on one another he said, "Always."

It was a tender moment. Suddenly another contraction came over Light, stronger than the previous ones, as she jolted back from the pain. Letting out a low groan she writhed in bed as Mythic stood beside her. The pressure from her abdomen grew stronger as she let out a tiny wail, breaking Mythic's heart with it. "It hurts so much." Light began to cry. "I know." Mythic said as he offered his hoof. Light placed her hoof into his as she gave a tight squeeze, another wave of pain washing over her. It made Mythic hold his tongue to let out a tiny yelp, but he had to be strong for her. Light was taking short little breaths as the nurse came in with two other ponies: Celestia and Sombra. "Light!" they said in unison. At the sight of her parents, emotions welled up in her as Light cried. "Mommy. Daddy." she sniffed as Mythic looked at the King and Queen with pain in his eyes. Celestia went to her side first as she pressed her forehead to her daughters. "Mama it hurts so much." Light cried as Celestia said, "I know my love, I know it does. It hurts so much." Sombra looked at Mythic with the same pain in his eyes as both stallions nodded. Sombra leaned onto the bed as he reached forward and brushed a few hair strands away from her face. "Hey there little Breezie, it's going to be okay." Light shook her head as she said, "I've had my magic drained away, this doesn't even begin to compare." "Look Breezie, you're not alone in this, okay? I'm here for you. Your mother's here for you. And you've got Mythic right beside you. You're safe. It will be okay." Light's chest heaved as she tried to breathe out the pain, holding dear to her father's words. Meanwhile the nurse got their attention, "Alright I've got some good news. You're going to be able to start pushing here in a minute or two. Your majesties, I'll have to kindly ask you to take a step away from the bed so that I can move freely between here and her right side." "But Mythic can stay here, right?" Light said in distress, as she leaned closer to Mythic. "Not to worry Princess, your Squire can stay by your side." she beamed as she came to her right side and began to take her heart rate and other details. That's when she felt a heavy weight drop in the lowest parts of her abdomen, the lower back pain subsiding but a new pain trickling.

"Ahh!" Light shouted. "Sounds like it's time!" the nurse beamed heading back to her position. "Okay Princess, I want you to breathe in for me for 4 seconds and push." Light nodded, loss for words, and she took in a breath. "And push." Light breathed out as she began to groan in between. "That was great! This is good. We're going to do it again." Mythic grabbed a cold rag as he gently pressed it to her forehead as Light followed the 4 second breathing and pushing. The pain was at its peak as her chest heaved. She leaned into Mythic as she tried to press close into him. "I can't do it." she whimpered. Tightening his grip on her hoof, Mythic said confidently, "Yes you can. We're with you Light." Her eyes opened slightly as she scanned the room. She saw her parents standing aside with encouraging looks. And she looked to Mythic. While there was fear in his eyes there was also love and strength. Blinking through her tears he said, "Let's meet out new foal together." "Okay." Light nodded. This gave the strength she needed as she drew in a long steady breath. Slowly but surely, she let out a long breath as her mane began to glow. It was a glow like they've never seen before. That's when Light felt a huge wave of hot and cold heat rush down her spine. Almost immediately a tiny cry pierced the air. The room went silent as the cry filled the room. Light and Mythic looked at one another with tired stares, but with a hint of hope. The nurse's back was turned to the family as she did what she had to do. The nurse let out a happy sigh as she came to the bedside. "Princess Light Breeze. Mythic Hope. Congratulations, he's a beautiful healthy baby boy." As she presented the bundled up foal, Light and Mythic's hearts stopped for a moment. The nurse placed him against Light's chest as Light naturally put her arm around him. He was a light purple color with tiny fuzzy little blue and yellow and a small hint of turquoise hair stuck about. "I'll...give you a moment with your newborn." the nurse said as she backed away and exited the room.

Light and Mythic couldn't stop looking at him. Tears were falling down their eyes, unaware that they were doing so as they just watched. The little foal wiggled slightly as he let out tiny sounds and grunts. You'd think they were statues if it weren't for there sides heaving up and down. Light gently touched the top of her son's head as she felt an overwhelming rush of love wash over her. She was the first one to break the silence as she whispered. "H-hi." Mythic lowered his head as it rest on Light's shoulder slightly as his muzzle was just an inch away from the foal's own face. His eyes were wide with wonder as he whispered, "Oh my gosh, he's beautiful." The baby fidgeted as Mythic looked back to Light. They noticed their messy hairs and tear filled faces as they both began to smile. "I love you." they said at the same time before resting their foreheads on one another. The foal cooed slightly as Sombra and Celestia stood aside, tears in their own eyes. They were allowing the new parents a time alone with their new baby before a psst came from the door. The two royals looked to see the nurse wave over at them to come. Slowly moving away from the bedside, Sombra and Celestia stepped outside the room. "Is everything alright nurse?" Celestia asked. "Well your majesty, it's about the foal." "What's wrong?" Sombra asked, his voice dropping. "Nothing in particular, he's a healthy baby boy but..." "But what?" Sombra pressed on. "He had a horn." the nurse said. Celestia smiled, "A little unicorn." "And wings." she ended. The two Royals eyes widened in shock. In all of Equestria history, there was never born a male alicorn.
