Thanks. I've been trying to bring myself to make another but that one took three days so I'm having trouble convincing myself to start.

The expressive face, with it's melencholy look, and the beautiful workmanship and delightful colours makes that one ultra gorgeous mask. A very interesting choice of media there as well, used extremely well.

Wool is the ONLY media. Well at least that's how I justify owning sheep. I do believe anything can be made out of wool though.

And your gallery proves the point that anything can be made of wool admirably.

I think he is a little sad. He doesn't look like but he reminds me of Falcor, the luck dragon from never ending story.

Wow! This is beautiful. I love the colors, there are so many different ones. And his eyes, they just draw you right in.
Nicely done.

Thanks, it took about 16 hours to felt this mask and I haven't really started anything comparable since. I made a couple of wearable masks for my kids for Halloween but I would like to do another dragon. The top layer is actually dyed silk, that's why the texture and colours are so interesting.

Beautiful! Curious weavers want to know more! How large is it? What inspired you to create this? Was it all wet felting or was there needle felting?

He's big enough to cover a face. Wet felted over a ball. The eyelids were made with resists and I needlefelted the eyes after the first felting and needlefelted the ears to attach them. There is no other needlefelting Spikes and whiskers were wet felted separately and then attached at this stage by poking small holes to push them through and letting loose pieces on the inside felt to mask in second felting. . Then the whole thing ws wet felted again so you can't see any of the needle felting. Beads were sewn on. Took about 16 hours to complete.
