OKAY so I know I actually have a request and an art trade to do and I promise I'll get to those, but I wanted to try a drawing of my own before and I have a legit reason for once. It's because yesterday I read this How to Draw Cats tutorial and the artist stressed sketching and the importance of sketching and you must sketch to become really good and all that. I figured if it was THAT important maybe I should try it. I'd tried something like it before when I was bored on a bus ride or something, I forget exactly, but I looked up pictures on my phone and drew those on paper and it was a cool way to pass time, except I'd never tried it with digital art. I sketched about 14 different cats yesterday and from cat to cat I could see the improvement. It was that crazy. I thought I'd draw a test thing to see how my style had changed and how I could work with it.
This is Cinderheart. It's been a while since I've drawn canon characters and the pose looked like her. Excuse my lack of expertise in drawing tabby stripes...

Same! I felt like her role in the series was underplayed and could really have been explored better.

Gosh, I can see an incredible improvement even between this and the last pose! This is so beautiful, she looks so happy <3 The background is stunning as well

Ahh thanks!! I could feel it as I was sketching, the anatomy just became easier and easier to replicate. I'm going to try sketching a couple practice cats before I start a drawing session in the future and see how much that helps. I'm really fond of that lake, though, I've always found water difficult and it actually looks good for once
