Nice B & W work, great reflection (involving the viewer by giving her/him an opportunity to mentally fill in the rest of the tower!), and Santa nicely, but discreetly, framed between the building and the edge of the photo (as if he has popped up from behind that tree! Its scale is emphasised (or exaggerated?) by the inclusion of those older, smaller? buildings. Excellent, despite being a "rushed" job on a phone camera! Beautiful instinctive use of the camera, including just enough of Albert Street to enhance its context, and missing out none of the main subject (i.e. the building "in front" of its twin). My guess is that, to do this, you took it on the from the side of the road where the buses stop! It looks like a much more carefully planned, taken and attractive shot than the ones I have just viewed on Google images of the building! \(^‿^)/

Thank you for the thoughtful (and rather kind) critique! It really was a lucky shot. And, yes, it was taken from the opposite side of the street.

Yeah, it's awesome how phone cameras are improving so much! I don't like lugging around a camera so all but a few of my photos were taken on my phone, hence some my older ones aren't very clear. I'd quite like to get a DSLR, which would totally be worth lugging around at least some of the time, but I don't think my photography skills are at a level where a better camera would make much of a difference, so I'd feel guilty making such a big purchase. o_O
Me, too. There's something really ethereal about them, like windows into a parallel universe that's just a little more magical than our own. =]

I love reflections, so this photograph is amazing to me. I love how clear the reflection is and how you were able to get most of the other building in the reflection of the windows. Excellent job.

Thanks! I'm quite happy with how this turned out considering I had just run to catch a bus and was trying to open the camera app on my phone before the queue took me out of view. I would've been gutted if I'd missed that shot!

Wow that was with your camera on your phone. I didn't even notice that, the clarity was good. haha I'm a sucker for good reflection shots and that was pretty awesome.
