Description
It's an ork mega-dreadnought.from forgeworld
I finally managed to finish painting this thing after well.... a week or so of procrastinating.
Now I can let it stand quietly in Singapore as it's too fragile to bring overseas. Sides, Being a forgeworld model means It'll find too little use to justify bringing the thing all the way to AU.
Cause most players here in Singapore and many in melbourne are too by-the-book and straight by torunament standards official
Wussies. -__-
---------------------------------------------------
COME ON!!! this pile of walking junk is quite overpriced at 175 pts base (even more than a leman russ battle tank) and in 1500 pt battles if you can't KO an av 13 vehicle there's something seriously wrong! And heck I only field ONE of these things for a field test and the only other vehicles I have are 3 kanz!!!! what's wrong with you all??? You guys field how many IRONCLADS and now you're afraid of me just one of these things???
--------------------------------------------
Lol
So anyway, As pretty as it is, this thing's likely not going to see much action. But heck I'm mostly a collector and converter. So I don't really care if I can't really use it. it just looks so cool
Also I always wanted to have one of these monstrosities
Anyway This thing somehow seems easier and faster to paint than painting infantry for some reason. Odd. Not sure why. I guess it's more fun to paint too.
Now it's time to leave it in singapore, see it the next time I come home and well... forget bout it. It's safer in singapore.

It pains me when there's no scale comparison
would it kill people to just lay a pencil or something by >_<

Pencil feels out of place. most model shots put a model and if I put some random object for scale there's others who complain about it.
if you want scale well, the base that thing is on is the typical gamesworkshop oval base.

well yeah, cept I left this beast in Singapore cause it's way too fragile to bring over.
As for fights well, I'd not recall a black templar player in the local store in a long time. I'm a regular there mostly appearing in the later half of the day on fri or sat only.

Interesting. I'm guessing 2 Big Shootas, a Rokit launcha & a Close Combat arm? Looks nice.
I don't know what they'd be worried about. Sure, it's nasty, but in a 1 on 1 rumble with a SM Dread, the SM has the speed advantage...

Snowfyre In reply to LordCastigator [2010-02-28 22:39:00 +0000 UTC]
Nah.
According to forgeworld rulez it's actually 2 big shootas, killkannon and a "Rippa klaw"
Latter counts as a marine seismic hammer.

Fair enough. I've been out of the loop a little for a while (working nights), not 100% on how a seismic hammer works, but I do know it'll hurt...

seismic hammer = dreadnought close combat weapon that adds +1 to damage table rolls vs vehicles.

Ouch.
Just found the rules for this thing. Nasty. Better line up a few railguns for my Tau, but my Marines, being Blood Angel successors, lack "heavy" weapons, so I'd have to rely on my own Dreads & Meltaguns to deal with something like this...

Nah, it's quite overpriced. heck the ironclad is so much cheaper.

Snowfyre In reply to creepfrombehind [2010-02-22 15:33:56 +0000 UTC]
Thanks.
stats are from forgeworld.
in summary it costs 175 pts base,
Armour: Front 13, side 13, rear 11
S 8(10), Ws 4, I 2, A 3(4) (I think), BS 2
Armed with rippa klaw (+1 attack... I think.... in profile, +1 to damage table vs vehicles), killkannon, 2X big shootas.
Some options too.

Hee, hee, yeah, I know what you mean! I wanted to play 40k, but at that time didn't want to shell out the $$$ to build the army, so I used Army Men and called them Imperial Guard.
Good for "fun" games, but never tournament legal!
