A daily weblog by Dinotopia creator James Gurney is for illustrators, plein-air painters, sketchers, comic artists, animators, art students, and writers. You'll find practical studio tips, insights into the making of the Dinotopia books, and first-hand reports from art schools and museums. He wrote also a must-read art book Color and Light: A Guide for the Realist Painter.

Nathan Fowkes Art

Nathan Fowkes is a concept artist for animation and entertainment projects. Teacher of drawing, painting, color and design. Notable clients include DreamWorks, Blue Sky and Disney. Beyond skillfull use of color and his charcoal drawings are just marvelous.

This week I found some lovely resources - 101 Projects for Artists and Illustrators by Dani Jones, No Time To Waste - a website that calculates how many weeks of your life you have spent and shows how that looks in perspective in 100 years, useful tips about working at home in order not to procrastinate, great video series for figure sketching, and a cute comic under the video link by MooseCleenex.
For this weeks video, click here - www.dailymotion.com/video/xx5d… - couldn't find a decent quality video anywhere else - a short & one of my all time favorite animation.
