Description Every few years I try to make a new "Serpent Slayer" picture to see if and how I've improved since the last one. The first one was ehhh, the second one was great, and the third one was both good and ehh. I'm way overdue for a fourth one, so I put together this guy to maybe be the hero of the next one. I planned on making him an elf but I did postwork before I noticed that I didn't morph his ears, lol. He'll probably change a bit for any serious pic anyway, but I like how this came out.

If you have any suggestions for what should happen in a fourth naga-slaying image, please let me know! I'm kinda low on ideas at the moment. Thanks very much for taking a look!

Wow, the textures and lighting looks great here. He looks like a very interesting character, even without elf ears. Not all heroes are supposed to have ones, right?

And I love this trick with the sword going out of the frame, like he's going to jump off onto DA background and go slay some monster from another deviation.

Thanks very much! Haha, for me, he's pointing the sword right at the Edit button...like he wants me to go back and fix those ears. OK OK, I'll fix them in the final image!

He must have a lot of elfish blood then if he wants the ears so much. I mean, how does he even know he was supposed to have them?

Well he's going to be even more angry now that he's not going to be in my next pic after all.     I'll definitely keep him around for possible future images though.

Then you should make your next picture a picture of him angry not being in the next picture. And it will be a wonderful paradox.

It happens often to me as well, with collisions, mostly. Then when you export in Octane, which is mercyless in showing stuff, surprise!Mishap aside, he looks great, to be honest.
Dynamic, bulky enough for a warrior, but not too much sculpted like the modern " uber fit" ones.

And not knowing how the previous went out, i had no criteria for a proper comparison.

Ah yeah, sometimes you don't even notice pokethrough until the render is almost finished. That's when knowing how to postwork is helpful.

Thanks, glad you think he looks good!

Well right now he's in a fight scene-in progress slaying the heck out of two giant she-serpents, so there will at least be one more pic with him.
