Description
From whispering willows to the mighty oaks that stood surrounding his village, Faolan wanted only one tree to mark himself: The Tree of the Mages, a brand that marked his completion of magical training. The tree was strong and represented the magic his village practiced, Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, and to have all four of the Elements burned into his skin was the greatest goal he could ever imagine.Earth, the energy of the soil and the plants, was his first task. He completed it within weeks.
The next energy was Wind. Without Wind, he couldn't learn to manipulate water, as it was vital to movement and fluidity. This was harder than Earth, but he still mastered it in a short period of time.
After Wind came Water. Water flowed through his plain of control and was as easy to control as a paintbrush upon a canvas. Though it took much practice, he soon became the best Mage at forming water into illusions and creatures to ward off any unwanted visitors to his village.
The last Element was Fire. The understanding of Fire escaped Faolan's eager mind, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't master it After years of accidents, injuries, and mishaps regarding a wild flame, he decided to practice it in secret, though that wielded no different result. He just couldn't wrap his mind around Fire. He had failed the completion of the tree, and for that, he was ashamed. The other Mages seemed to understand the flames so easily, and yet he couldn't even get a tiny candle light to flicker.
Okay, so this was done on a watercolor canvas in(well, of course) watercolors and acrylic paint for the tree. It's not symmetrical, which is what the mages planned when designing their tree. They wanted it to represent life, and life is not perfect, therefore, their tree isn't as well.
Hope you enjoy~ Thanks for dropping by~

Poor Faolan, he came so close, mastering all the elements, but then having Fire escape his grasp!

Ah yes, it is! I might hang it up after work today....maybe......
Heh, his jealousy towards other Mages is hidden by making a gut-load of tarts XD Honestly, aside from mastering Fire, tarts are his universe, lol
