so overwhelming to see her close up after watching your women dance on the page, like looking in a mirror or pool. like the nymph echo trapped under water. a moment of joy and surprise, an epiphany.
i love how the inside of the razor blade is very flower shaped itself. every detail is perfect. i love the perfect way you shaded the divet above her lip. you blended the collage pieces so seamlessly...god i love this, i feel so stupid even writing anything because i cant say how t makes me feel, i just want to stare at her. katie it might be my new favorite ever.

I love you forever for the things you can see...
That sense of joy and surprise is exactly how this epiphany came to be. It was born from an operatic crescendo, where I saw a slash, whence a flower followed by an entire image was bloomed. It was very sudden, and heartbreakingly beautiful, that I had to bring it to our world.
Thank you so much Lolita, brings a smile to my face that you enjoy this so much

okay. lets make out.
it's a bit like watching Planet Earth or any national geographic special where they speed up the time immensely as you watch a plant grow or a flower bloom, the sky goes light and dark a thousand times, it's born, it grows, it blooms, it dies. this is that kind of apex in time.

Muah
And I LOVE those time-lapse portions in Planet Earth... just astounding. Makes me feel very small, and somewhat unremarkable in comparison

no kiddding! me too. i am actually a huge astronomy freak too. anything to do with stars and comets just steals my heart away. maybe it's the base reason i love the little prince so much.
when i was younger the first imax theatre around here went into the science center in boston and i saw 'ring of fire' which was all about volcanos...just amazing...so watching planet earth always brings that back for me <3

Have you ever seen a meteor shower?
I saw it only once in my life, in Hong Kong of all places. Had to go to the rural areas, and pretty high up.

I know it's been said many times, but your paintings are always meaningful and beautiful. This one perhaps more so because of the fact you can feel the girls pain and emotion.
The cutting of her cheek seems to represent her unhappiness perhaps with the way she looks, expressed in the sadness we the viewer can see in her deep almond shaped eye.
Beautiful work as always, Katie This painting definitely needs no critique
