Its ok if you try to redraw things when you're a beginner, its suppose to teach you how things are like shadows... vocaloid is a voice synthesizer program that is used to write songs
(awesome program btw! ^^ )
every voice has a name & a character
only the looks & the names of the vocaloids are confirmed everything else is constructed by the fans ^^
so Rin & Len Kagamine are two singers who have the same surname, so it's quite logical to say they're twins(plus they look alike ^^ )
but since /kagami/ (the first kanji in their names) means /mirror/ some argue that they could be mirror images
that's the point ^^

there are two official generations of vocaloids: vocaloid & vocaloid 2
vocaloid contained leon, lola, lily, miriam, kaito & meiko(sry, if I forgot someone ^^" )
but anyway: today nobody cares about them... except for kaito & meiko, they're still popular, but the rest isn't
the second generation has more vocaloids & more popular ones! ^^
vocaloid 2 has charas with surnames that usually end on /ne/ ( that kanji means /sound/ )
there are: Hatsune Miku(the most known one :3 ), Kagamine Rin & Kagamine Len (twins or not... that's the question! ^^ ), Megurine Luka, Kamui Gakupo & Megpoid Gumi (but there was something special about the last two...I don't remember what it was, though.. )
there are more, I don't know all of them ^^"
but fans like making OCs so there are many derivative charas, like Akita Neru, Akaito(another kaito ripoff v_v" ), Kaiko(female kaito), Mikuo(male version of miku ^^" ) & hiyama kiyoteru who look like miku, kaito or anyone else v_v"

I think there are too many of them... so I just accept the original ones and some UTAUs & Neru ^^
the fanmades don't have their own program & their own songbank(it's not rly astonishing, is it? ^^" ) but their voices are created by changing the settings (breathiness, brightness, gender factor, clearness, etc. ) of another vocaloid's voicebank & what do you think: every fan has a different imagination about how the voice of a fanmade vocaloid should sound ^^"
