Description Before you say it... actually you don't need to say it >.< I am terrible at drawing the male gender. A blind monkey would do a better job than I would.. I know T_T I KNOW!!!! Hrm.. But I wanted to give my hand a try at new things. I was kind of excited at Lithe getting together with Tilslen, ~PyrosMerra 's character. I was going to wait for the reference picture but I just got too excited !! Anyways I used this reference picture [link] of him as a baby to create my interpretation of him grown up ^^ I hope I didn't muss it up too much Merra!!! ; I hand drew all the scales except the furthest coils because they would become more indistinct as they got further away..
Sorry another deadbeat background I know Lithe looks different too. I rarely can make things similar enough to look the same.. Plus there were things I wanted to change slightly especially with her soft demeanor in this picture ^^ Anyways time for bed I feel fried out..

I think I made the ears to skinny.. Pyrosmerra's character has thicker ears. They are Nagas ( serpent people ).. In India they are often associated with fertility

o.o Yes I will have to work on the male elf face.. Anything more delicate and I fall into box man with female face v.v I walk a fine line Raven!! A fine line!!!

walking the line is fine just work at it. it takes practice. i figured they were nagas from the snake bodies. I love thepiece. Now i have a question. Do you know of more fairy tale and mythic creatures from india? i'm writing a teen fantasy book and i'm trying to incorporate all mythic creatures to make it a more realistic idea isntead of this exclusionistic bull that american and british fantasy writers have created where only native american and european myth is true.

Hm Native american or Anglo American?? There's a bit of difference. Native americans have an earth based culture, with lots of animal spirit/guides/gods... I'm more of an asian mythology person just because I come from there.. But I know a tiny bit about Indian mythology o.o;; It's funny because myth can cross into present day religion. A lot of myths in India are tied into stuff like Hiniduism o.o Or Buddhism..

myth is part of religion and religion a part of myth. and I mean native american. Not a lot of old school myth in america now a days. but we make it up as we go along. I love to hear all of it. I want to incorporate cretaures of asian based myth sot hat i can bring this imaginary world of chilren in my book to life. and i would definitely cite you if i ever got published.

Not exactly ^^ Religions can be myths but myths aren't always religion. They actually mean different things ^_^
Actually there a lot of old school myths in America besides native american myths ^^ The modern American is made up of People from other countries. So a lot of it is european myths and superstitions and sometimes a little bit of the south american myths get mixed in. It's a mixing pot ^^
Uh Well it wouldn't belong to me so it wouldn't be plausible to cite me ^^ I can link you up to pages with myth stories if you are interested ? ^___^ They are really fun. I love books where authors base stories on mythology stuff ^_-
