The Historian
    As the king was looking for a new librarian, he had a young man detained by accusing him of theft. The young man was shoved into a cell, but as the guard left, he got right back out of the cell and headed toward the library. The princess was wandering the library aimlessly, and the young man asked “Do you need help, my lady?” The princess turns and says “Are you the new librarian? I don’t recognize you.” The young man tilted his head down and said “I was accused of theft by your father, all I was doing was admiring some of Humanity’s finest historic works.” The princess gasps in horror as she knows her father was known for doing this.
“I’m terribly sorry about that, I’m Princess Madison. What's your name?” She says with a smile, seeing her father standing behind the man giving him a look he knew meant she was upset. “Name’s Connor White. I enjoy history and art, and I know your father is standing behind because I can feel him breathing down my neck. Now, What is it that you are seeking Princess?” “A book about how to make butterflies using paints.” She responded. Connor stood to think where such a book might be. The king said “Sweetie, I deemed him a criminal of theft for a reason.” “No, you did it to strike fear into our citizens, which I have told you doesn’t work.” She responded with anger and frustration
    Connor came back and said “Sorry for my absence, I decided to try and locate the book you sought, my lady. And good news, I have found three books on such topics. Also, don’t be afraid to use other arts as templates for your own. After, art takes inspiration from others, it doesn’t take a person doing it alone.” The princess was stunned by Connor’s sheer speed and attitude despite his situation while being moved by his words about art. “Father, he’s our new librarian. I expect you will respect him and show him you are sorry for what you tried to do to him. “Yes my daughter, he is best suited for this task, despite his youth. I do apologize for my actions Mr…” The king stops and Connor finishes “Connor White sir.” the king curiously asks “Mr. White, How old are you?” “I am merely 23, your highness. But willing to help nonetheless” Connor responded.
     Madison looked back at Connor and asked, “Will you help me learn what it’s like to be you? Your way of perception is…..intriguing.” Connor bowed and said “Of course my lady, I will show all that history and art has to offer.” responded.
