It's great but I don't get the pose that's an axkward stance knees going in like that make it easy to knock you over.

Haha! Thanks! I'm glad you like it! I love that design of Sarah, Its just so rich and magical, yet not in the airy-fairy way, more of a deep earthly magic...I love Frouds work so much!

Oh my God me too. I have 4 of his books including "Goblin's of the Labyrinth" he is a BRILLIANT artist, and I feel like I am literally in another world when I am gazing upon the Β magical pages of his books. I want to live in his world!

I know! It is so refreshing to see a fantasy artist who creates worlds that are so palpable and naturalistic without compromising the pure fantastical elements! I wish to be even a sliver as talented as that man is at illustration!!Β

Oh I know! He is my absolute favorite artist. He is my inspiration. I hope to meet him one day and just talk to him, listen to his stories, and just listen to how his brain works.Β

Brilliant. Especially love her face. And her coat. And the cap!
I don't have Froud's book with concept art, but I've gotten glimpses of his artwork on-line. It's my impression that his artwork is very detailed. Very VERY detailed. In stead of just evil red eyes, you could suggest the facial features on that which is lurking in the background. Add small almost invisible details, like the faint silhouette of an owl. Small details that will only be noticed by those who take their time to truly look at the picture.
It's totally understandable if details isn't your thing. Great job, anyway.

I love the way Sarah has grown up in this piece, it is so realistic!
Something about her face strikes me as odd, that she is almost making a fish face, but that is just me. Β It adds to the dramatic feeling of the piece by not having her smile, as she is determined to do what it takes. Β I think the addition of a crystal in the background would be awesome, as well as having her friends who helped in the back. Β The crystal because it is awesome and can take many forms (Jareth!!!!), and her friends helped her, and no doubt are there for her in the future as she grows up. Β However, it seems like you are just focusing on Sarah, so that would be another scene for another day. Β As is, it is great

This is wonderful! I love that you took the original concept art and made it your own. You were wondering if there was something missing and I cant help but think that the original concept is covered in faeries and other various woodland creatures. I feel like maybe you should add some winged faeries.Β

The only thing I can think of that might be missing is... (aside from Jareth ) is More Glitter!Β (j/k)
It's amazing! Maybe a crystal or a peach, just outside of her line of vision? Or one of her friends peeking around something to watch? Or the owl, gliding in on approach. But I don't actually think that you need anything more.

Thanks again! Β

DISCLAIMER: I don't draw, I certainly don't paint, and I don't know official terms in order to use them correctly.
Maybe it's the color of her pants. It definitely draws the eye toward her, but it tends to draw it to her legs instead of her face.Β But I LOVE the coat / cape!!!
