I love this colour scheme! Warm purple and brick red. It's one of my best matches .
You really well placed the focal point (the castle). And all these curves (like the branch of main tree and shapes of foliage) add dynamics to the whole piece. There is impression as if I was running this road just looking at it. Leading lines on the road make this effect even stronger. The composition is really well in general . Great job!
You could get a more natural effect in colours if you shade violet parts with dark red and inverse. Shades of foliage would look better if instead of dark red you'd use dark red + dark violet on it (or violet with "multiply effect"). The same about violet parts - using dark red on them would make them even darker and not that surrealistic. Surrealism is not bad in general, but in this case, I think that bit more of realism would make it even better .
Tree trunks are bit messy. I know that the forest is messy in general, but not that much imo ^^. Here is a great overpainting of the forest with some theory explained. Maybe you'll find it useful. The part about the forest is from 0:42:00 to 1:10:00 youtu.be/gBxuVjbYhPQ?list=PLUe⦠.
Have a great day ^_____^.
