Loghain didn't betray anyone. His retreat from Ostagar was the smart decision, if he had just charged in he would have sent all his men to their certain deaths. The only real reason I hate him is that he declares the Wardens to be traitors, when we could have been allies. Oh, and he seems to be unable to control Howe, the actual fiend in the story.
