DOGGIES!!!
Speaking of pits, I found a white and black polka-dotted Pitbull running around my street a few months ago... She was so sweet, but she was also scared... I named her Lily until the Animal Control came by to pick her up. While I was waiting for them, (It took 10 hours for them to finally come by my house) we walked around the neighborhood and played fetch for a while. She was the prettiest and best-trained female Pitbull I've ever seen. I couldn't watch her walk away from me. :c

In fact I can share a story here, more rambles! When I was little my dad found a stray husky running around in the streets. Since we had too many animals at the time he didn't take her home even though he wanted to, he took her to the local shelter. We didn't know better at the time...when we found out more about them and their policies (and what a short amount of time they hold strays for) we went back to try and pull her out again. They REFUSED, they told us "she's aggressive" - she was NOT! My dad had spent a few hours with that dog and said how she gave him kisses in the care and had the sweetest nature. They were outright LYING about this dog. So then we contacted husky rescue groups in our state to see if any of them would come and pull this girl. Finally one agreed and the sick "animal control" shelter refused to work with THEM either. It's like they didn't WANT this dog to have a chance. Eventually the rescue group managed to convince them to turn her over to them but after that experience I'll never trust "animal control" ever again. They're just a prison for dogs; often the "hold" time is less than two days. They have VERY little chance, especially a breed like pit bulls (THE most common breed seen in shelters) T.T

Awwww... That poor Husky... I like those dogs! They're so cute! But then again, if that was me, my mom would say, "Those dogs shed a lot!" Nag, nag, nag... Blah, blah, blah...

Huskies are awesome, one of my favorite breeds...but they DO shed a lot XD My Wahya is only half husky but her coat takes more after that side...here's a SMALL pile of "snow" after brushing her: [link] I usually have three times that much after a good grooming XD

Haha. This was my reaction in my head when I saw the picture:
"Holy crap! That IS a lot of snow!" xD
I should think a little bit moar, before I get a Husky... Thanks for showing me how much they shed. (But I still might think about getting one).

Oh huskies are amazing dogs, just be prepared ( ) for a lot of hair and energy! If they don't get enough exercise they can become bored and destructive (chewing, digging and they're also known escape artists) Never really had any of these problems with Wahya - she digs sometimes for fun but stops when I tell her. Huskies are also known to have a high prey drive (many people claim they're not good with cats for this reason which CAN be true, but not in every case. Huskies that are raised around cats and other small animals from an early age are usually fine - as an alternative to a puppy you can search shelters and rescues for a "cat friendly" husky) Wahya has never shown any sort of prey drive, even towards my rats but again Wahya is also half collie and collies are known for being extremely tolerant of other animals plus she was raised around them.

PS: If you really wanna see how much they can shed check this vid out: [link] XD

Woah. So much Information!
Huskies ARE pretty amazing dogs, but I don't think I'll get one until Mojo, (My Male Springer Spaniel.) passes away.

Awww, sounds sweet! I could never turn an animal over to animal control, especially a pit...their chances of getting out again are very slim. >< I'd call them to let them know a dog was found in case anyone was searching for their missing pet, have them checked for a microchip etc and if no home was found I'd hafta keep 'em myself or foster until I could find a new home, or if I HAD to, I'd find s rescue group or another foster home, I just can't stand shelters (unless they're the nice type) T.T Sorry for the ramble, just...seen too much horror in my day and "animal control" is a bad word in my mind T_T

Yeah. Same as me.
I called in the Animal Control, and when they came over, I told them, "If it doesn't have a Microchip, I'll keep her. She is just too cute!"
Sadly, she DID have a Microchip, and I couldn't keep her. Plus my Insurance wouldn't allow Pitbulls. (What jerks!!! I love those dogs!)
A couple weeks later, I received a message from the owners, and they were very pleased that I found her. Although I couldn't keep her, I was happy that the family was reunited with their dog, again.

Ooh good! I'm glad to hear she had a chip and a home! Every dog should have them. It's really stupid when insurance companies ban certain breeds like that, I agree. >< Pits are awesome.

Yeah... The Insurance people should at least have a certain 'You can keep the dog, if...' list.
And, yep. Pits are pretty awesome! :3
