Description
"It's not natural for humans to drink cow's milk. Human's milk is for humans. Cow's milk is for calves. You have no more need of cow's milk than you do rat's milk, horse's milk or elephant's milk. Cow's milk is a high fat fluid exquisitely designed to turn a 65 lb baby calf into a 400 lb cow. That's what cow's milk is for!" ~Dr Michael Klaper MDPlease refrain from posting any hate, flames or starting any heated arguments 'cause I'll just ignore any such posts anyway. If someone starts crap here I can always disable comments, too. In short, if you don't have anything nice to say just don't say anything. Thank you!
I have been debating posting this one for a while now (I'm always afraid of people spewing hatred about these sorts of pictures
This was drawn a few months ago after a friend suggested I do some more pro vegan/animal rights related works. This is a pretty personal artwork for me, this is the way I felt about the time I went vegan. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone but myself in the quote there (the person is random)
I thought today was the perfect day to post it, since it's Mother's day. Why? "Dairy" cows are the most over-worked, abused (physically and emotionally) animal mothers on the planet. I won't go into details 'cause it disturbs me, but I'll share some sites for anyone that's interested.
Learn more about what's wrong with dairy (for both animals and our health) here:

Your local grocery may have their own brands too, Krogers has their own almond milk now. It's delicious and much cheaper than the name brands.
I have had this picture up on another gallery of mine for a while now and it inspired one person to go vegan, so I guess I did something right.
Hey, if just one person pauses to think, to read up on the facts then that's what matters. When that person told me this picture is what helped jumpkick them into veganism it really touched me. Just to think that something I sketched out could have such an impact and help to open someone's eyes about what these animals go through daily (and the impacts on their own health too, they cheered about how wonderful they've felt since they ditched dairy)

Thanks :3 It always amazes me how many people think dairy is perfectly natural and even "healthy". When I first went vegan (despite 10 plus years of being a vegetarian) a good friend of mine was really concerned for me, saying to be careful not toget sick from cutting dairy out. People seem to think it's the only way to get calcium. NOT true. o_O I mean honestly, dairy is THE most unnatural thing. NO other species drinks milk into adulthood - much less the milk of another animal. As that quote from the MD at the top of this says, human milk is for humans...cow milk is for calves. Really doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how wrong it is for adult humans to be stealing milk from baby animals. Dairy causes SO many health problems, since I gave it up I've felt wonderful. Plus almond milk is WAY sweeter anyway! :3

Np!
I know right? It's sad! Everyone is so mislead!! Dairy is weird; it's to enhance products and use it as a filler! (like in chocolate or cake; they don't NEED it, but they ADD it to make it all big and nice X_X )
[link] This is gross XP
Ah, you're an almond milk person? I'm a soy milk person XD

I love the "Milk is Natural?" cartoon on that page, really sums it all up! XD What I find really sad is the way so many parents think milk is good for their kids (I know someone who claims that her son "needs" milk because he's still growing...uh, he's 16. Why isn't he weaned? ) I have another friend with a son who's been vegan from birth and he's super healthy (and super smart too :3) Their entire family is vegan (and they have a pet pig XD)
I have a major sweet tooth so yeah, almond milk is my favorite XD I like coconut and soy too though :3

Sorry if I worded that wrong, I mean she thinks he needs milk as in dairy/cow's milk - just like most "normal" people think XD Just someone I know, and have had some conflicts with before.
No supplements that I'm aware of, but I'm not entirely sure. I've never taken any myself in all the years I've been a vegetarian (nor any since I went evegan last year)
Never tried flax seed or sunflower, but I'm curious! XD

OOoooh okay! Definitely did not sound like that XDDD
That's interestingly weird O_O
Ah, okay ^^ So you don't get any b12 at all?
I heard flax seed is good (it's a fairly new product) and sunflower is even sweeter than soymilk!

It always makes me happy when people makes this kind of art and showing the abuse of animals. And please dont be afraid of idiot comments, you know you are always right about this! Dont let people without emotions press you down.
Its an very inspiring drawing, since im not total vegan yet, it made me think, and i really feel like an ashole! All non-vegans should! I hope this drawing inspires more people to think and go vegan, and it is a very good thing you posted it!
I dont know if you have seen this page, but there are some really amazing artist making paintings about animal cruelty, you should check it out! [link]
Well, the best to you and keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment, means a lot! I'd never seen that site before but I really love the concept of it - raising awareness through artwork. I have always thought it'd be awesome to use artwork to help animals in some way.
PS: Don't feel like an asshole, we all get there in our own time and way - I was only a vegetarian for over 10 years. I went through all the stages when I went vegan (ignorance, denial...but once I knew the facts the guilt was too overwhelming for me) I was a "cheese addict", but now I'm hooked on Daiya vegan cheese
Thanks again for the comment and for sharing that awesome site! Some of the works on there are pretty graphic, but they sure get the message across!

the ONLY thing that doesnt make sense to me is the 'not weaned' part.
Please explain?

Well, humans are the only species that drink milk into adulthood - milk from another species no less (some could argue "cats like milk" but who gives it to them and milk isn't healthy for cats, either) Cows produce milk to nurse their own babies, just like any other mammal
