Devon and Skylar became friends in Kindergarten when Devon couldn't stop crying at the first day of school. Skylar, whose first day it was also, protected Devon and wouldn't let anyone scare her. The two became friends and over time, the two have developed an inseparable bond.

While they are very different personality wise, what they have is an acceptance and trust of each other that is unbreakable. Add to that, their different personalities in a way compliment each other.

For much of their life, Devon was the follower and Skylar the leader.... In H.S. Devon began to develop her own will just as Skylar moved away to another school.... While this has been good for Devon's independence and growth, it has meant an adjustment for the strong will Skylar and is often the source of their disagreements.

Part 3

Notes: I have made a few changes to Skylar over time and I think I have her just how I want her....

Instead of the longer more feminine red hair and darker makeup, I changed her to a shorter hairstyle and less makeup.... away from a glamour look.... Skylar is a jock, a multi sport athlete coming off an injury where she lost her 4 year scholarship to a major university. Her body is more athletic than Devon and her hair/makeup is more "wash and wear".

Her skin has been a bit of a challenge. She's a fair skin red head of Irish decent with lots of freckles. Just putting freckles on the base skin map, did not get the results I wanted as they were barely visible. I ended up adding an overlay texture and translucency texture. The freckles are more pronounced but I have to be careful now as the other characters have much simpler toon based textures.
