Thinking about doing something with these characters. Maybe a comic book? Or an illustrated story? We'll see.

This would be the first generation and one with whom the story begins. Second would be, of course, their cubs or at least what survives of them. Not going to make it easy for the characters. No, it would be boring that way.

I'm of a theory that smilodons lived in prides and coalitions (like lions). That would explain, at least, why individuals with major injuries, especially hip injuries, would survive for months, even years, when they would certainly be unable to hunt.
