Description
The science team, Jolly and Kimmie, along with Julia from engineering, had discovered what seemed to be a biological breeding facility- rows and rows of tanks, vats, tubes and storage rooms, all linked by what had once been some sort of maglev tunnel. Amazingly, the facility was still somewhat active, with some cells and rooms containing algal or bacterial cultures, plant life...and more.

As Kimmie hauled open a heavy metal door, something larger than a human had brushed her aside, sending her flying. It rushed past Julia and impaled Jolly with a long, mantis-like claw, lifting her off the ground as she shrieked, blood spurting from her chest. As the beast prepared to bite into Jolly, Julia hit it with her laser, drilling holes into its neck and flank.

The creature flailed, roaring, as its greenish ichor splattered, sheeting into the air. Jolly, now silent and limp as a ragdoll, was thrown against the tunnel wall by the creature's death throes. Julia's ears were ringing in the deathly silence that followed the creature's final collapse.
